Review: Excellent one shot developer - I only started developing my own film a few months ago. This one-shot developer was recommended as a good black and white developer to start with. I've had a couple of bottles of it now and developed a couple of films. It's nice and easy to use as it a one-shot, meaning you measure out the amount you require and dispose of it when finished. It's probably not as cost effective as some of the ones you make from powder, but it is better if you aren't developing huge amounts in a very short period. I don't believe it is supposed to be as good as some of the other Ilford developers or alternative brands, but the results are perfectly fine. It also does work pretty well pushing the film or stretching it out with more dilute mixtures; normally you develop at 1+9, but it's perfectly acceptable at 1+14. I've had a few bottles of this now and am happy to recommend.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why did it almost double in price? also, ilfosol s no longer exists, it's called ilfosol 3.**
A: It has been called Ilfosol 3 for years but even though we asked Amazon to update the title, it is a case of 'the computer says no'. I shall try again, you never know. As for the pricing, I am afraid I do not know how much you paid and where you bought it before (online? in a shop?) so I cannot comment.

**Q: Will this work with Delta 3200?**
A: Yes

**Q: Is it ilfosol s or ilfosol 3? they're very different while title and pictures are not the same.**
A: It used to be known as Ilfosol S and quite a few years back the product (mark 3) was renamed Ilfosol 3. The tech sheets are a bit different (you can find them on Ilford Photo website). You will not find Ilfosol S on the market unless it is way out of date.

**Q: Can I use this with HP5?**
A: Yes.  I haven’t, because I use Delta 100, but I know other people who do, and Massive Dev gives instructions for it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well on old cine film!

I'm currently using this to develop lots of old (35 to 40 years) 16mm B&W FP3/FP4 cine film, with some great results. (My parents were prolific photographers, with many films exposed but unprocessed...) At that age, my main concern is mould getting into the film - but I use this at 1+14 dilution in an old Lomo spiral tank, for 12 minutes, then home-scan it. I'm fairly new to home-developing, but it seems to work well and is far cheaper than the DDX solution I was using.
