This backpack is unbelievable. This is the nicest leather backpack I've ever seen, much nicer than the photos show. This is easily a $200+ bag. The color is a very rich dark brown with a tint of red. The leather is very thick, similar to that in a high quality baseball glove, making the pack a little heavy. It's a little larger than the typical purse/backpack and a good size for travel. The leather smell is strong enough that it needs some serious airing out before use. Don't pass this one up. UPDATE ordered a second one as a gift. The quality was not as good as the first. Construction was just as good but leather was not as nice. Still a great value.

I love the material, the color, the structure of the bag. It look expensive and stylish(Pro) it’s a strong odor (con). I wish there was suggestions too how to Eliminate or reduce the odor (smell mildewy) I had it outside upon delivery over a week and the smell is still loud. Other than that the bag is perfect.

Have been using this bag for a year and a half as my bag for to and from work, and generally just my bag for going to local places. Smell subsided quick, just left it outside for a day or 2 to air out as someone else recommended. Not really any signs of wear, though i don’t really try to push the bag’s limits. I probably wouldn’t trust it to stuff full and perform as i would my personal item on a plane (I beat that thing up) but its very sturdy for day trips to the mountains around home, packing some extra clothes etc. After a year and a half using this almost daily, I would buy again. Take care of the bag and don’t treat it like some jansport that you’d stuff til the seams break constantly and I could see this bag lasting a long time.

So far so good. It is baseball glove type leather like another post mentioned. I got some leather lube from wmart and worked it in. I would expect to pay about $200.00 for this bag at a store. I don't plan that n loading it down so hopefully the straps hold up. If there are any issues I will review my review but so far so good.

Fairly well-made, quick ship, but..................This backpack stinks so badly, it gives me headaches.I cannot bring t into my house.I threw it in the garbage can, hoping it would smell better if it smelled like garbage.Instead, it made my garbage can stink and made my garbage man mad !!!!!This bag is awful !!!!!!!

Honestly a 5 star item! Bought 2, gave 1 as a gift to someone who loved it as much as I do. Heavy duty leather, sturdy construction. Some people mentioned a strange/strong odor but the 2 I bought just smelled like regular leather. Very nice. Great size, not too big, not too small. Would buy again.

Way smaller than expected. The leather is crafted on fabric. The side pockets are not even large enough for a cell phone.I’m sending this back

The backpack is reddish than the one in the images. Also, is narrow and tall. I'm 5.5 and it takes my whole back. I bought it despite the bad smell warning. I thought it couldn't be that terrible, but it really is disgusting and it sucks the room where it is. Leaving it on the air doesn't solve the problem either. I left it outside for 4 days and it steched almost the same. The smell reminded me of the leather my dad used to dip into a can of real horse fat. It was very old, he had inherited it in his twenties so you can imagine. It was an almost nostalgic moment ;)So what I did was wash the entire backpack with saddle soap and let it air with an open packet of powdered detergent inside. Now it smells like new leather. Then I will oil it with a good lotion and it will be perfect. This backpack is beautiful, vintage style, made of great leather and a quality and price that I did not want to miss out.Hope it helps.
