Excellent pen for an excellent price!
Excellent pen, especially for the price! I have been a fountain pen fan for 40 plus years and I ordered this one to try out. I want to get a couple of pens for Christmas gifts for coworkers. I wanted a pen that looked good, felt good, and (of course) wrote nicely without skipping or scratching. I’ve always used a converter in the past but I wanted something that could use cartridges or a converter, and I didn’t want proprietary (expensive) cartridges. Converters could be more trouble and potentially messier than my potential recipients might be ready for, so cartridges needed to be an option. I ordered the Ellington pen and I was immediately impressed with the attractive packaging, a factor to consider in a gift. I opened it up and it’s a very nice looking pen, has a nice fit and finish. It comes with a converter and three cartridges. I installed a black ink cartridge and grabbed a piece of paper to try it out. Ink flowed as soon as the nib touched the paper. The nib glides across the paper, no scratching or skipping. It’s a beautiful pen, well made and well balanced. I will be ordering two more for Christmas gifts but this one I am keeping for myself.

Finally!
I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a fountain pen. I've been wanting one for years. I don't know what took me so long. I had seen an ad for Ellington Pens and I figured I would check it out. Thanks to Black Friday deals and a coupon, I was able to get the Stealth Fine Point Pen at a really good price. The pen arrived in a nice little box with a ribbon around it to keep it in place during shipping so it wouldn't get damaged. It also came with a small box containing 3 ink cartridges (2 black, 1 blue). There was also a business card that had a QR code where it would take you to the Ellington Pens website. From there you can get some tips and tricks on using the pen and contacting support when/if needed. I had to contact support because my simple brain couldn't figure out the ink cartridge. It comes with a refillable ink converter in the pen right away, which I'm assuming that it's for getting ink out of bottles. That will be something to try in the future. I like that it was shipped that way, without any ink in the actual pen. It prevented any possible ink from leaking or exploding, which could have damaged the pen. Once I figured out that the ink converter needs to be removed and an actual ink cartridge needs to be inserted (it just snaps in), I was ready to test it out and get the ink flowing. This pen is absolutely AMAZING! It writes very smooth and the ink flow is constant. It fits well in my hand when writing. However, it soes seem to write a little thicker than I'd like. I have a Fine Point and to me it writes like a Medium Point. It doesn't leave blotches or have inconsistent thickness/thinness in writing. If the pen is uncovered while not being used for a chunk of time, it will cause the ink to dry a little bit. All that needs to be done to rectify that issue is just write/draw some circles and the ink will flow again like it should. Although I normally have messy handwriting, the pen allows me to write more clearly. I can also write messy if I want to as well. I see a lot of writing happening in my future. The only cons I have about this pen is that it's heavy compared to other pens out there. Of course I'm sure most, if not all, fountain pens are heavy. I also wished/hoped they'd have more ink colors than just blue or black. I know there's other companies who have other colors available, but I'm hesitant on exploring those options. **Edited to add: I discovered that Ellington Pens does have additional ink colors besides blue and black. I'll definitely be ordering those in the future!** Overall, this is a wonderful pen that writes beautifully! I just got this pen a couple days ago and I've already ordered another one (or two). Having just one fountain pen isn't enough. I highly recommend jumping on the Fountain Pen bandwagon with one of these Ellington Pens. The price is great, the luxury of the product is amazing, and it'll make you want to write more!

Good looking, very functional, excellent value for money
A pleasing and handsome pen. Enters my rotation of seven fountain pens, including another Ellington (thought to be lost; showed up under a couch where a cat had put it). From the first fill the thing writes smoothly, which is not always the case. I love the stealth look of the black nib, and the very firm click when I attach the cap.

The pen and customer service are both excellent.
This pen looks and feels impressive. At first touch it’s a bit heavy, but a lot of the weight is in the cap. If you put the cap to the side it’s very balanced. The nib (that’s the tip right?) is a bit thicker than I expected, but it makes for a beautifully smooth writing experience. The pen just glides. It comes with a cartridge compatible with an ink well, and short disposal cartridges. It’s also compatible with the Waterman Large Standard Ink Cartridges (which had I purchased previously). Being compatible with three different ink sources is convenient feature. The pen comes loaded with the “ink well” cartridge installed, and I was unsure of how to uninstall this. But the QR code and the excellence customer service people rescued me in all of 3 minutes. 5 minutes into opening, I had the disposable cartridge refitted, and I was writing things down. I’m just getting into journal writing, and while I love a good roller ball, but I’m fairly new to fountain pens. My dad on the other hand, gets a pen every year from his boss (he worked at the same hospital for 30 years). He happened to be with me when I opened it up, so he took it for a spin. Even with his experience of his Mont Blanc and his calligraphy pen sets, he was very impressed with this. I’ve only had it for a few hours, but I’m loving writing with a running hand. The ink flow is evenly distributed, the ink runs quickly but dries quickly, so I haven’t smeared it yet, and it writes well at all angles and speeds. So far I’m a big fan. This is going to be a tremendous help for unpacking my thoughts and improving my cursive penmanship. The $40 was worth it. Other things I noticed: 1. The customer service was excellent. They immediately connected to FB messenger, which I use routinely, and knew precisely the questions to ask. 2. The packaging was sturdy and well made. It had a bunch of dried ink inside the box which was a bit weird, but nothing on the pen or in the case, just on the protective laminated paper which houses the case. 3. The cap has 3 parts: the little nub on the top, the paper clip thing and the cap proper. The cap has cheap plastic threads which connect the nub to the cap proper. But this is probably never going to be relevant. All the rest of the materials are metal and they seem sturdy. If the pen breaks in a few days, I’ll come back with a follow up, but for now, I think I have a new favorite pen.

Smooth, Elegant Writer
This is my second Ellington fountain pen, my first one mysteriously disappeared after someone “borrowed” it (a testament to how nice it is). I genuinely love the way it writes. The medium nib delivers smooth, consistent ink flow and glides effortlessly across the page. It really does feel like a luxury pen at a great price point. A quick note: if you write with a light hand, you might notice the top strokes of your letters aren’t as full or bold as the downward ones. It’s not a flaw, just something to be aware of with this nib. If you have a heavier hand, though, it writes beautifully. The set includes both cartridges and a refillable converter, which is a great bonus. I only wish the instructions were printed as having to scan a QR code to figure out the ink setup was a minor annoyance. Still, an excellent pen that I’d happily recommend, and clearly, I already bought it twice!

Great Pen at a Great Price!
I ordered an Ellington pen with the fine tip. This pen writes beautifully and perfectly weighted. It has an elegant look but not over the top as other pens can be. I like that the pen uses either pre-filled ink cartridges and includes a cartridge that allows you to refill ink from an ink bottle. This pen is reasonably priced and very comfortable to use. I received mine within two days of ordering.

Smooth, Comfortable, and a Joy to Write With
This pen feels great in my hand and writes perfectly. The medium nib glides effortlessly, giving clean, crisp lines without skips or blobs. I really like the weight and balance, which makes long writing sessions comfortable. The included ink cartridges and converter mean it’s ready to go right out of the box. Honestly, it feels like a much more expensive pen, both in build and in performance. Definitely a new favorite for journaling and everyday writing.

My New Favorite Pen!
It's an elegant product at an affordable price! I had long seen and desired my own Ellington Fountain pen but always put off buying one. Well, Father's Day saw a daughter of mine give me a nice Amazon gift card and I immediately headed to the Ellington pens wanting to order a black medium pen. With Amazon, I placed the order late at night and by the next afternoon I had my new pen. I should add that I've been a fountain pen guy since my elementary school days when one could buy a Sheaffer fountain pen for 99¢ - this is way better! I love its ease of use and response to my way of writing. Comfort: Fits comfortably in my hand. Value for money: Executive quality for not so much money. Ink flow: The ink flows smoothly and evenly; a joy to use. Write quality: Its ease of writing is great even though my penmanship leaves a lot to be desired.
