The slots match up each end of most pieces of the wood supplied. There were also the pieces for the top and bottom. I found it easy to put our three together. I had to have a piece of wood to put between the slats and the rubber mallet as I secured each plank in place. I put each together within about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour sitting on my toolbox. I had to get up to turn it round.
