Review: Adds a savoury taste to lots of dishes. - I like to make my own chicken stock where possible and will religiously squirrel away chicken bones and carcasses in the freezer until I have enough to put a stock pot on. I will then make some kind of soup, but I have to admit that a couple of spoons of this added really takes the soup up another level in terms of flavour. Just be aware it contains a fair bit of salt so go easy on seasoning until you've tasted it..I don't add any salt before I've tasted the soup. It is also really nice added to the water when you cook rice, only put enough water in to cook the amount of rice you have, then it will all be absorbed and you are not tipping any away if you have to drain the rice. Stews and casseroles all benefit from a dollop of this and it may be useful to know it is gluten free too. I like that it's a paste rather than a powder too, not sure why, I just do.

**Q: I've never used a paste bouillon.  Does it need to be refrigerated once opened?**
A: No, I keep it in the cupboard and it lasts for months. Much better taste than stock cubes .

**Q: What is the expiry date on this product?**
A: I bought mine in april 19, the expiry date is july 20

**Q: I tried it today for my first time. i found it extremely salty even when i never used salt. where did i go wrong or how do i 'disguise' the saltiness**
A: I never followed instructions I just added boiling water until the desired taste was achieved . Perfect for king prawn linguini but only when made up not too strong as it will reduce .

While it is of course ideal to make one’s own stock that isn’t always possible and this product provides a good quality and great value alternative. The tub closes tightly keeping the product safe between uses, very little paste is necessary to produce a litre of tasty stock that can provide a base to numerous soups and sauces.
