If you need a flexible credit card piece of plastic to spread thermal paste or to pry a lightly fitted casing apart slightly, then these are perfect for those tasks. I use them all the time for spreading thermal paste on top of CPU’s when installing the cooling solution as I can do the job in one swipe rather than messing about with a small spatula. A wipe down with an isopropyl alcohol wipe after use means that they are reusable & as good as new for the next time they are needed.

Everyone has been in the position where the only thing they have to scrape with is a bank card - it’s simply which one is least important to me!Well, step in the ‘ifixit card’ yes it’s expensive for what it is.However, for saving the hassle of destroying your credit card when you’re in a pinch, it has to be worth the money.Of course, it can even be used as they intend for carefully opening electronics for repair.It’s one of those things, you didn’t know you needed one until you have it in your wallet.Definitely worth the money, I think everyone should have at least one handy.

It didn’t helped at all opening my Legion 5i Pro, could be useful for other things, but I intended to open my laptop with it and ended up using a guitar pick

Meine Frau nützt ein 10 Jahre altes iPad Air2 für Rezepte und Unterhaltung in der Küche. Leider war bei dem Gerät der Akku so defekt, dass es überhaupt nicht mehr funktionierte. Da hier immer die Gefahr von Wasser und Bruch besteht, wollte ich hier kein neues Gerät kaufen, habe mir YouTube Anleitungen zur Akku Tausch angesehen und dann einen Akku bei Amazon bestellt.In den Anleitungen arbeiten die Leute meist mit Spielkarten um den verklebten Akku zu lösen. Eine Anleitung hat auf die IFixit Karten verwiesen. Deshalb habe ich mit die Karten bestellt.Gerade zum Lösen des verkleben Akkus sind die Karten Gold wert. Ich hab die Rückseite des Gerätes vorsichtig mit dem Heißluft Föhn angewärmt und bin dann mit den Karten zwischen Akku und Gehäuse gerutscht und konnte den Akku recht einfach lösen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass Spielkarten hier ähnlich stabil sind.Das Gerät läuft nun sicher noch ein paar Jahre. Mir haben die Karten gut geholfen und ich kann sie an Hobby Bastler nur weiter empfehlen.
