Where are these made? China?

Spode is an English pottery company, based in Stoke-on-Trent, that was founded by Josiah Spode (1733-1797) in 1770. Josiah Spode earned renown for perfecting under-glaze blue transfer printing in 1783-1784 - a development that led to the launch in 1816 of Spode's Blue Italian range which has remained in production ever since. The word "China" refers to the fact that it is porcelain or earthenware. My wife and I have a complete Spode Christmas set and it all clearly says, "Made in England", on the back. That said, we have seen plenty of imitations in stores that can fake you out if you don't look carefully. Hope this helps.

Looking for best price on 8 Spode Christmas Tree bread and butter places?

I found the price on Amazon to be comparable to the prices at the local stores near me that only have Spode dishes at Christmas time. The only place that I have found Spode price lower has been at Home Goods stores, but they never had much selection so I suspect it was stock from some other store that was 'closing it out'

Beautiful as always. Not a fortune but, not cheap either. A good price for great china that reminds me of the collection my mom had. Collected these over time to have four place settings and am so glad I did. The Christmas dinner table looked beautiful. Microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe!

My mother wanted these and had never bought anything online. She was so impressed on how fast she recieved the dishes and how nice they are. She is really happy with them. She tried to buy them from the Spode website but they do not deliver to Canada even though they are in Connecticut.
