Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures [DVD]
D**.
Not bad at all. Lots of fun and familiar appearances.
The Freemaker Adventures take place between the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The Freemakers are a family that, like other heroes in the Star Wars galaxy, have unassuming roles as scavengers. They are assisted by their revamped Clone Wars battle droid Roger (!) in running a shop for parts and their spaceship constructions.Zander a reckless trailblazer and Kordi, clever but dreamy, are the family’s grown-ups. Then there is a younger, more rash brother Rowan. It’s is him that discovers part of the ‘Kyber Saber’ an ancient artefact, the first ever lightsaber! Obviously this attracts the attention from the Emperor. So the Freemakers family takes up the plan to discover the remaining Kyber crystals to complete the weapon before Palpatine and Vader. Given this the storyline is actually quite decent adventure.Similar to the Lego Star Wars video games the cartoon is full of goofy jokes for which the Star Wars galaxy lends itself very well. If you want to avoid spoilers; skip the next few sentences, but for example there is an Imperial officer that intentionally screws up to get demoted and stay out of Vader’s scope (as you know, Vader kills all his senior officers). And then there is the brilliant notion of a Palpatine-Museum on Naboo where you can stock up heavily on merchandise. Even George Lucas has cameo in the form of the Maker who obviously has gone in hiding as he can no longer withstand repetitive space battles. And baby-characters, ever popular in the series (hint to the Mandoloarian), also make an appearance here - baby Wampa’s do exist! Familiar characters show up as well. Luke, Leia and Wedge Antilles enter the stage as well. Lando and Lobot recruit the family to find Lando’s most precious cape. And even Hondo from the Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons shows up on Takodane at Maz Kanata's watering hole! Interestingly, bounty hunter Dengar gets screen time in this series, accompanied by his teddy bear and obsessed about with his more illustrious and better known con-colleague. So there is lots of familiar stuff and backstories for Star wars fans.Is the Freemaker Adventures actual Star Wars canon? Hard to say, it is licenced by Disney, but I’m not sure that says much these days. Anyway I wouldn’t mind seeing more of these story lines and characters in the wider galaxy. I’m interested enough to buy some of the Lego Freemaker spaceships construction sets, that are gradually becoming a little rare.About 300 minutes of content spread over two discs, for about 7 GBP taht I paid for the DVD was a very good value for money. Although similar to my Rebels Blu-ray sets the extra’s on disc are very limited. Of course you can also get access to the series on Disney+ but that is not yet available in the UK at the time of writing. In the mean time I might buy the second season set.

Kids love it and so does Dad!
Brilliant little saga. The kids LOVE it and there are plenty of Easter eggs and references for the 'older' viewer. So Dad is happy watching along too!

would of made a good movie
I think this is the best of all the LEGO STAR WARS that has been done. I feel the plot would of made a good movie in itself or would at least be equal to the plot in Star Wars Rebels and would work well as a non Lego product. the story takes place between Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi as the emperor wants the power of the ultimate light saber whose crystal parts only a ten year old boy with a connection to the force can locate. both the empire and the Hutt clan want Ronin to lead them to. we get to revisit many of the worlds from the stars episodes 1-7 and even have some secondary characters from Star wars Rebels make guest appearances as well as many of the characters from the live movies being far less silly that previous Lego series.

Lego star wars non ha storie corrispondenti alla saga di star wars, ma piace molto al mio bimbo. La lego offre qualità anche nei film che realizza
