Firehawk CO7B-10Y Carbon Monoxide Alarm Detector with 10 Year Battery

I recently purchased the Firehawk SML CO7B-10Y Carbon Monoxide Alarm, and after using it, I can confidently say that it’s a well-designed and reliable safety device. The alarm has a sleek, compact, and lightweight design that blends seamlessly into any home environment. It’s small enough to be unobtrusive but sturdy enough to feel durable. The white color makes it look modern and clean, fitting well with most home decor. Setting up the Firehawk CO alarm was quick and hassle-free. It comes with mounting accessories, but you also have the option to place it on a flat surface if you prefer not to drill holes. The user manual provides clear instructions, making it simple even for those who aren’t particularly handy. A 10-Year Sealed Battery – One of the standout features is the sealed lithium battery that lasts up to 10 years. This eliminates the need for frequent battery changes and ensures continuous protection without worrying about power failures. Accurate Detection – It uses an electrochemical sensor, which is highly reliable for detecting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. I tested it near a fuel-burning appliance, and it responded quickly. Loud Alarm & LED Indicator – The 85dB alarm is loud enough to be heard throughout the house, and the LED indicators (green for normal operation, red for alarm, and yellow for fault) provide clear visual feedback. Test & Hush Button – The test function is easy to use, allowing me to verify that the device is working properly. The hush button is also a useful feature to silence any nuisance alarms without deactivating the unit. The Firehawk SML CO7B-10Y is an excellent carbon monoxide detector that offers peace of mind with its long-lasting battery, reliable detection, and user-friendly features. It’s perfect for homes, apartments, and even holiday properties. Pros: 10-year sealed battery (no need for replacements) Highly sensitive electrochemical sensor Easy installation & maintenance Clear LED status indicators Loud alarm for emergencies Cons: No digital CO level display (would be a useful addition) Can’t replace the battery (must replace the unit after 10 years) A must-have for home safety! If you’re looking for a dependable and maintenance-free carbon monoxide alarm, the Firehawk SML CO7B-10Y is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Very good. Had it before 19 years ago & recommended by British Gas when putting in a new boiler.

I was looking for a freestanding product that was going to do it's job unobtrusively. This appears to do that. Obviously like any similar alarm, I only know the test button works and hope I won't ever have to find out if it works as a detector. I did phone the manufacturer as I wasn't sure if the power light should be on all the time (no, it flashes). I was very impressed with the response. It was easy to put together and is very stable sitting on a cupboard.

Exactly as advertised. Easy to fix with clear instructions

All good

This 10-year CO detector was purchased to replace a near identical 7-year model that had reached the anticipated end of its battery life. The choice of the replacement was based on good reviews and the fact that the previous detector had functioned satisfactorily and and had been easy to test regularly. That the new detector simply clipped onto the existing wall bracket was an added bonus. In addition, it comes with a small stand enabling the alarm to be used as a portable device away from the home in holiday accommodation including a caravan, campervan or boat. Four stars for battery life only because I won't know until 2033!

These should be fitted with any wood burner installation, we didn't have one to the horror of the chimney sweep. This is the detector he recommended, it installed easily and can be removed from the mounting plate so you can position it elsewhere if you need, it's fairly small and discreet, quality looks good, hopefully I'll never need to hear how loud it is.

Easy set up and install. Put it on the wall by our boiler and forgot about it. The only reduction in stars is that it started pipping this morning to say the battery was failing, but it's only lasted 3 years, not the 10yrs that it states it should. I've read similar stories, so worth remembering if you purchase this model
