Can’t believe it’s been 10 years already. Swapped it for my old one so didn’t need to install. However perfect device, pop it next to your boiler and rest easy for another decade. Loud beep, compact, test button works.

The first unit I received was faulty, emitting a regular series of beeps which didn't match any in the instruction manual. I returned it and the second unit is fine. It's a well thought-out design with the ability to be wall or stand mounted. I'm 90% sure that you have to wall mount the backplate before affixing it to the unit, and once the backplate is on I can't see an easy way to remove it (batteries are built in so I presume this is by design). If I'm correct, this seems like rather a poor design choice as once it's on the wall, you can't remove it without trashing the unit.

Essential piece of equipment at a good price, great that it’s free standing.

I have had this type of carbon monoxide detector for a number of years. It is easy to install, test and replace and is compact, unobtrusive and ideal to be placed in any room that there is a gas fire, boiler or coal/wood burner.

It's pretty easy to set up. It works on test, the power light doesn't stay on, I don't think it's supposed to.. I hope it is working OK but I never have to use it. The unit is compact and mobile so o can sit it next to my boiler.
