I don't usually review products, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I have been looking for a sand free mat for awhile and there are lots of expensive ones out there with mixed reviews. This one had only a few reviews so I was skeptical, but for under $20 I took a chance and ordered it anyway. I have used it at the beach 3 times now and am still very happy with it. Prior to having this mat, I would sit on a beach towel and it would end up getting annoyingly sandy within minutes of being at the beach. Now, I still bring a beach towel and use it on top of the mat for comfort, but my towel stays clean!Pros:- Dry sand falls through automatically and very little comes back up- Wet sand falls through and stays away with the brush of a hand- You can rub the mat against sandy limbs to clean them- Pretty large - big enough for a family of 3-4- Mat itself stays very clean (Sand doesn't get trapped inside the layers after use)Cons:- Will let a little sand back through if the sand underneath it is not flat (seems to work best on level sand)- Mesh is not super comfortable to sit directly on (bring a towel to use on top)I'm very happy with this mat and won't go the beach without it now.

I was not sure what to expect, but thought I would try it on a recent trip.It came in a nice storage bag and also came with 4 stakes. Taking it out and setting it up was easy. Each person grabbed a corner and stuck it in the sand.We were all able to sit on it as it. The mat is not a blanket as it is too rough, but for me it was fine to sit on. The kids put their towel under them. I dumped sand on it, and through the time sand was falling and aside from some big pieces, it fell through and had a nice sand free experience.I wanted to see if sand would come through it and when I pressed down, sand did come in, but it was pretty negligible, given the pressure.This is really a great product and would highly recommend it to anyone.

After reading the reviews I thought this was a miracle beach blanket. Sadly it was just “pretty good”. Yes, the sand falls through from the top but this also means that sand can come up through the bottom when you lay on it. I places my beach blanket on top of it and when i took my beach blanket off, the entire bottom side was covered in sand from the sand coming up the mat from the bottom.The good thing about this mat is that it does not collect sand so there’s no mess in your car from this blanket.I will perhaps try to level off the sand before placing the mat on it the next time I go and of it makes a difference, I’ll edit my review.

This item is misleading in the description and photos. While sand does not stick to blanket, it doesn’t keep sand off you because sand comes up from the bottom. It feels like sitting on plastic mesh and gets hit when under the sun. You still need to have a towel or something to keep sand away, so not sure what the purpose of the mat is. Also, pictures show a large family all sitting in the mat which is not accurate since it barely holds 4 adults sitting very closely together, nothing like the photo at all.

I absolutely hated this product! I threw it right in the garbage at the beach!! I’m so disappointed I even got it!!!! Wish I would have kept it so i could get my money back to be honest but why tire around a sandy Blanket back to Ohio from myrtle beach when I’m fact this blanket was supposed to have the sand fall thru it and mind you as I’m setting it up the one part where I put the stake into it to go into the sand just completely ripped right off!!! I’m so upset I even spent my money on it and had I not thrown it away I’d definitely be getting my money back for it because that should have never of happened!! I think i should really get my money back regardless but I was just that upset that it went right into the garbage! I was so excited to get it and use it on my vacation and it was a complete bust! Don’t buy this product don’t waste you’re time or money people!

I ordered this for a beach vacation and it has been perfect. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to a more expensive brand and am so happy I came across this one. The size is great for my family of 5. The sand falls through and our towels don't get all sandy. I washed it after the first few days bc my sister's dog drooled all over it, and it is still perfect. Folds up small and is light weight. Would love to see in other bright colors. Plan to use for camping trips also. I had several people comment on it and I highly recommend.

I love the beach and always wanted to spend the day laying on the beach without getting sandy. This helps with that. I don't have to keep brushing sand off of me, my things or the blanket. You know how you usually leave your bag on the sand because you dont want to get your blanket dirty. No need to with this.Cons: If you press to hard sand will come up. Next beach time I'll place my old beach mat underneath to stop sand from coming up.Pros: Sand goes through quickly! Which is exactly why I bought it! I got the 79x79 and it's huge! We're a family of 3, our slippers, 2 beach chairs and 4 bags of food and snacks fit comfortably.We got ketchup on it, it washed off easily. When it was time to go home, it was easy to shake off any excess sand and fold it right back up in the carry bag, whuch was great because sometimes carry bags are too small for the items.

I thought it was something else, it’s a great thing for the beach if you don’t sit on it while you’re wet! The sand does come through from the bottom, but I guess that’s to be expected LOL! I think it’s a great piece to have if you go to the beach often, great to have small children sitting on, or even maybe just a something to stand on underneath the covering while you’re at the beach. I’m actually very happy with the purchase, even though I thought it was something else, I seem to use it every time I go to the beach. The size is excellent it’s big enough for at least two people if not three, folds up and fits into the bag easily for storage I just hose mine off to keep clean!
