Generous with materials, super little patterns
I enjoy crochet and especially amigurumi, and I have a lot of friends and family who like the old-school Star Wars, so I had to try this kit. I'm very impressed. The box is attractive, a nice compact container with pictures of all 12 characters from the kit around it. Inside you get the pattern booklet, which is very compact and portable; a hook; enough yarn to make Yoda and the Stormtrooper; two pairs of toy eyes; a darning needle; and stuffing. The stuffing roll is hidden under the cardboard the book sits on, by the way. I didn't use the hook because I'm arthritic and I only use bamboo or rubber handled ones, but a friend tried it for me and said it was good, no rough edges like ones you sometimes get with kits. The booklet was hard to keep open when working from it, but a small book stand or clip does the job. The yarn comes in twisted skeins, but it's very easy to untwist and roll off into a ball (especially if you have a patient helper). It's not bad quality, I didn't have problems with splitting or knots. There was just enough to do Yoda's robe in the beige, but I tend to be a loose crocheter and usually run out of yarn when using kits. Not the case here; I had enough brown and green left to make a good start on another Yoda, enough white to do Princess Leia's gown and arms, and plenty of black for finishing touches like Yoda's mouth. There was also enough stuffing to do at least two more toys, and it's very good quality indeed. I didn't use the eyes for my trooper (not accurate enough according to my nitpicky offspring, so I just worked a couple of black stitches for eye slits) but on Yoda they went on nice and easily, no need for pliers to push the backs down. It took a couple of hours for each one. And you can see the results. The patterns were pretty simple to follow, and I found no errors at all in them. I have requests for more. starting with Boba Fett and Jabba, and I'll be happy to oblige. If you're a crocheter who likes toymaking or wants to try it, or a Star Wars fan, or have fans who'd enjoy these as gifts, this is a great little set. And if you're looking for a gift for a crocheter who likes science fiction, this will go down a treat.

Great patterns but a few niggles.
I got this to start crocheting (I am a knitter but wanted to learn). First the good - the patterns are excellent and accurate, and super cute (even Darth Vader!).Niggles - really disproportionate amounts of yarn - there is enough of most colours with plenty to spare, but not the beige for Yoda's robe - I only managed to finish by salvaging the cutoff ends from all the pieces and sewing together with something else. Reading reviews I am not the only person to have this problem. (See photo - there is more leftover brown and green than the full amount of beige in the pack despite needing more of it).Instructions - the descriptions of stitches are OK if you know what you are doing but unclear for an absolute beginner. I recommend finding a suitable Video online. It would have been nice to include a stitch marker in the pack as all patterns need one.The yarn comes in hanks which need winding into balls, but the instructions don't tell you to wind them. As an experienced knitter I knew to do this, but my daughter didn't and could have ended up in a big knot.Other than those, it is a lot of fun and a good set of quick, small projects.

Great book and accessories, wool lets it down.
The instructions and patterns in the book are great, I haven't done crochet for 25 years and had never crocheted a figure before and now have a (rather shabby) yoda that I made by myself. It's a reasonable book for someone coming back to crochet but the constant flicking between pages required in some of the stitch instructions (read then find picture on another page) may be too irritating for a complete novice. The hook and needle were great quality although I found the hook a little small (I have arthritis in my hands) but the one thing that let this kit down was the quality of the wool. It frayed far too easily, was very staticy and at times frustrating to work with. For future attempts I am going to track down better quality wool as I am now hooked (pun intended) and plan to make all the other figures in the book.

Brilliant pack
Brilliant pack - very easy to crochet and for the novice there are clear instructions with clear, accurate photographs. They are very quick to make, Yoda took 2 evenings, and if you follow the instructions as to when to place the eyes and stuff, you will be very pleased with the results. The finished projects are just the right size for little hands , perhaps a little too big for key rings? There are 12 patterns in all and, apart from Darth Vader looking a bit like a dog with a mask on, they are all recognisable. The set will make a great extra Christmas present. Very good value from Amazon but don't think I would be tempted to pay the full price of £20 for the kit.

Worth every penny
When I saw this I just had to get it. My partner is a huge Star Wars fan and was very dubious to see how the characters woruld be transformed in to crochet orijects and he was definitely more than impressed. Very easy to follow instructions and the end result is very pleasing! Definitely worth the money and great little makes to give to anyone who loves Star Wars

Lovely gift for Star Wars Crochet lovers <3 May not be for beginners though!
I bought this as a Christmas present for a close friend of mine who is really into crocheting and Star Wars and she loves it!The Yoda she made with the pattern in the book was really really cute and looks just like the Yoda on the front of the box.One thing she did say was that the patterns were complex but were really well explained, hence my inclusion in the title that this may not be for beginners.

Very cool.
Bought for girlfriend who has MS. Sometimes she can't see very well when she has had a relapse and so struggles to watch tv or do other things and she also wanted a hobby. She tried knitting and so I figured this might be cool as she also loves Star Wars.

Excellent if you can already Crochet.
Lovely presentation box, but the instructions to build the figures are for people whom know what they are doing.I for one, do not.Complicated, sadly sitting on my shelf gathering dust.Youtube video's help.Sadly no time to learn. On my bucket list though.
