Come Clean
****
**Very Clean Indeed!!!**
So the dwarves decided to come clean....I guess that after all those years of debauchery and insane shows and behaviors it was about time! Their sound did evolved a lot but they havent lost this crazy energy and the band is still as thight as they were before....even more...The songs seems to be a lot more structured now with verses, choruses, breaks and solos. We are far from BLOOD,GUTS AND PUSSY in 1989 for which, aside from the shocking cover, also had lots of good numbers but it wasnt as structured and clean. Same energy but different approach. There musicianships havent lost a beat and some of those songs have really amazing breaks, very raw and straight melodic arrangements as well. Despite the album's title and cover, the artwork and photos inside are kind of disturbing....i've heard rumors..but never thought it could go that far.....Aside from there shocking and appealing covers, the dwarves apparently offered the song "River City Rapist" to George W. Bush for his 2000's campaign, feeling that its chorus of "I want to rape the U.S.A." was appropriate....im wondering what he thought about it....Overall a very good album! my favourite is "i want you to die", very fast and intense but so melodic its just crazy!! all the other songs are good, nice vocal work, crazy guitar solos and both a clean and a screaming voice. I really liked this album and hope the band keeps playing for a long time, this is pure raw punk!! Should please any real punk fans....ENJOY!!!

Very classic punk
If you like very gritty raw punk, this is right up your alley. Dwarves are among my favorite recent re-releases. They are deserving of another look if you missed them (or weren't alive) when they were active.

Let's have some violence....
This is definitely the best Dwarves album in my opinion. Of all the faces the Dwarves have worn over the years, and hardcore Dwarves fans know just how many faces that is, this album shows them all. From the heavily Ramones influenced tracks like "Over You" and "How It's Done" to the old school crusty punk style tracks like "River City" and "I Want You To Die". The Dwarves have done a great job at mending many different styles of punk and just music in general on this release while still keeping it as vulgar and offensive as possible, I just love it. If I had to sum this album up in one sentence it would be if the Misfits and the Beach Boys had a love child and then it was raped by Satan. My favorite tracks are "River City", "Johnny On The Spot", and "Better Be Women". Hope somebody found this review helpful, if not, I couldn't possibly care less.

The best punk album of 2003
"Come Clean" is the best album the dwarves have ever done. Since the first time I listened it until now, I can't take the songs out of my head. The best songs are "Better be woman", "How it's done, "Production Value", "Over You" and "Way out". The lyrics are irreverent as usual and the music goes from Industrial punk on Over you, to Hardcore on "River City" and some catchy melodies on "Production Value". There is everything on this record, is definitely part of the punk history. Excuse my english.

"also playing were the Dwarves: one of the more violent bands!"
Oh crikey - here come the Dwarves again!Getting a Dwarves CD is always an infuriating experience - after the first listen you're like, "What the heck was that!? Mostly filler!? 22 minutes!?" But then after repeated listening (and it doesn't take long to rack up repeated listenings on a 22 minute CD) you're more like, "Actually there's a lot of substance and genius here!"Considering the Dwarves are essentially just a punk band they do branch out of the genre and spit out a lot of what's going off around them with just about everything they produce. This album for me is probably my fave along with "the Dwarves are Young and Good Looking" - for the most part it thunders along at a face-melting pace and it really is lots of fun! There's vocal hooks galore and there are actual proper songs here that are for the most part excellent! My favourites are "Accelerator" and "I Want You To Die" - that latter song being some of most intense 58 seconds of thrash punk fury you will ever hear! Gets the heart rate going -love it!The only song here that kind of takes the experimenting too far and as a result disappears up its own backside and meanders and goes nowhere is "Over You" and I think at 2:40 is (gulp) far too long for what it is. However it does have an awesome vocal melody and sounds more like 'Ministry - industrial electro punk! Similarly, "Deadly Eye" descends into a noisy crescendo thrash-out which is almost as long as the song itself. That song also ends with a bad taste answerphone message too that only Blag could conceive to commit to record! In short... "RECO'NIZE THE DWARVES, SLUT!" 4 stars because it's totally Dwarves: equal parts infuriating and exhilarating but all Genius!

A Dwarves classic
If you get only one Dwarves CD, this is the one. This band went through several periods (and at least one crisis), but tuneful, rockin' punk here makes for great listening song after song. Fans of the Ramones or Queers will enjoy their fixation on fun, and of course this is one of the classic record covers, ever.Mandatory for every collection.

The Dwarves Come Clean
This is the best album of the century!!! I expected that from the Dwarves though, since they have been my favorite band since '88! They're an irreverent old school punk rock band and they're definitely not afraid to experiment or try something new. THE DWARVES ARE THE NEW KINGS OF PUNK SO GRAB A BEER, TURN THE STEREO UP, AND LET THE DWARVES SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE!!!
