Roland Foods White Truffle Cream, 2.8 Ounce Jar, Pack of 2

Three words for you: ah_may_zing. This little preparation will add panache to any creation. Mix a couple of spoons into a stick of softened butter to spread on bread or even to finish fire-grilled steaks. I used garlic, Chardonnay, beef stock, artichoke hearts, a soupçon of Dijon, and saffron to make a sauce for sautéed strip steaks, then stirred in about 1-1/2 tsp of this preparation into it. Cannot convey just how it elevated the results of an already-fabulous taste. It has a light texture which whisks easily into sauces or butters. Add a tsp or two to your carbonara or Alfredo, and the result will be memorable. Add just a kiss to your omelettes or soufflés. Unleash your imagination! The only thing that prevents me from just eating it by the spoonful is the price. Happily, it is so flavor-packed that a little will go a very long way. This truffle cream is very aromatic and goes great on garlic bread and even on a sandwich for some extra flavor. A very little goes a long way. Put unused portion in fridge and make sure you close it very tight or it tends to get mold, but what is mold? fungus, and what are Truffles? Fungi! I scraped it off and used it anyway and were all still alive and well, and the garlic bread was to DIE for!!! :o) Great for cream sauces too like Alfredo!!

I bought this since it had some pretty good reviews. I'll keep this short. It's good for cream based sauces and for pasta. The smell is great and very earthy. The paste it self does have it own characteristic flavor. Overall if you want a nice flavor of truffle I suggest buying a high quality white winter truffle oil to finish the dish off with!

If you like the taste of truffles, this is delicious mixed with side dishes, pasta, spread on fish, poultry, beef or bread. A little goes a long way. Keep it in the fridge. Let it sit out a little while (lid on) to soften if necessary. But don't keep it too long or it will start to mold -- like many jarred foods in the fridge. It took two months for this to happen. Just a little on top. I scraped it off and it was fine.

This cream has a real truffle taste, not just an infused oil taste, and the overall taste is mild rather than overpowering. It's thick-- more of a paste than a cream. If you are planning on melting it on a steak, it will be perfect. If you want to make truffle fries, I suggest mixing it with truffle oil, then lightly basting your potatoes with it.

This is a great inexpensive truffle cream perfect for flavoring meat, lamb & putting it on toasted crackers on broil with cheese. Yes, You can spend $$$$ on truffle products with more flavor but I think a little truffle flavor goes a long way. It shouldn't be the only flavor component of your dish. Too much truffle over powers dishes. This is perfect.

The contents of the jars I received were shrunken inside and the tops of the cream were hard and brown. It obviously isn't a fresh batch and I wasn't happy with the flavor. I tried it the day I got it, so there realy isn't any excuse for it not being fresh. There was no way to contact the seller, so I am out 35 bucks, plus shipping. VERY disappointed.

I have used truffled salt for many years, but the salt part is not always appropriate. I also tried some truffle powders, and they were worthless, no flavor at all. This product has all the flavor you can ask for, without the salt. I use it on boiled eggs, potatoes, even on steaks and burgers.
