Xega 4G Security Camera
I recently purchased the Xega 4G Security Camera and overall, I’m quite impressed with its performance and features. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:Setup & InstallationSetting up the camera was straightforward. Since it uses 4G LTE, I didn’t need Wi-Fi, which made it perfect for my off-grid property. Just insert a SIM card, download the app, and follow the prompts. It took me less than 15 minutes to get it running.Video QualityThe camera delivers clear video, even in low light. The 1080p resolution is sharp, and the night vision works surprisingly well. I can easily make out faces and license plates, which gives me peace of mind.Motion Detection & AlertsThe motion detection is accurate and customizable. I set it to alert me only when there’s human movement, and it rarely gives false alarms. Notifications arrive quickly through the app.App & Remote AccessThe mobile app is user-friendly and lets me view live footage, playback recordings, and adjust settings remotely. I’ve had no trouble using it on both Android and iOS.Battery & Solar Panel (if applicable)If you get the solar panel bundle, the camera can run indefinitely without needing to recharge manually. It’s perfect for remote areas without power access.Pros:Works without Wi-Fi using 4G LTEEasy installationClear video quality (day and night)Reliable motion alertsGreat for remote or off-grid locationsCons:Requires a separate data plan/SIM cardSlight delay in live view under weak signal areasNo local storage without SD card

Top Class Camera at an affordable price
This is 1 awesome surveillance camera. It is super easy to install, there are a lot of helpful Youtube videos to choose from.I enjoyed the 18 minute review by The Review Dad.The solar panel does an awesome job of keeping the camera battery charged. The setup is quite easy.1 tip I would give is take a photo of the QR code on the camera itself and WhatsApp and email it to yourself, so if you want to swap between SIM and Wi-Fi you don't need to climb up a ladder to scan the QR code for installation. The UBOX App is very user-friendly and recognized the test SIM in 3 seconds flat.I initially tried a new Virgin Media SIM which didn't work for me, but afterwards I heard you need ro slap it in your phone, remove the PIN access and then you are good to use it in the camera; otherwise I keeps waiting for a PIN code it's never going to get, inside the camera. It still worked out the best for me, because I purchased a year's data for the test SIM and it costs more than 50% less monthly than the Virgin Media SIM would have cost me.The signal is not the greatest; I get maximum 2 out of 5 bars, 99% of the time.On rare occasions it might boost to 3 out of 5 bars.Everything still works, so I'm happy. There are loads of options to choose from on the UBOX App and the only thing this camera doesn't do is "lock"on a target and follow it.It detects movement, even if it's partially off frame and records it.So far, in the week I've ised the cammera, I've only lost connection for an hour running of the SIM.I contacted customer helpline and Annabelle replied quickly and saw that I had meanwhile managed to reconnect. She was so helpful and asked for my Amazon purchase number to register the camera for 3 years warranty and a choice between 1 years cloud storage or a 64GB TF card.I had already purchased a 128GB card, so went for the cloud storage. The day and night image clarity of the video is simply excellent. We had a yellow wind warning here in Ireland and it got pretty rough during the night and I expected to find the solar panel in the park across the road; but it's still secure as a tick on the wall outside.Give this camera a shot; I'll be very surprised if it does not meet most, if not all, of your needs.

Easy to set up solar/SIM based CCTV security camera that works well with Ubox app
My garage got broken into. £000's of power tools stolen and other stuff. My garage has no power or Wi-Fi so I searched and found this camera which uses a mobile network for signal and a 20w solar panel and in-built batteries. My sister said she's got one to watch her sheep during lambing so thought I'd give it a try.Out of the box it feels the real deal. Weighty, good antennas. I charged it up overnight as instructed, downloaded the UBox App, and the next day started to set it up.Before mounting it to my garage I tested it. I live in a bit of a mobile blackspot and the SIM provided struggled to find a strong enough signal - it's a 3rd party SIM that uses a local network but I couldn't tell which one. So, I drove into town to where I'd knew I'd get good signal. The camera worked fine....in fact, it surpassed my expectations by some way. The SIM and memory card are a little fiddly to get in the recessed slots but the seller helpfully provides a pair of tweezers in the box just for this.During this set up process I contacted customer support and a very helpful Kiki provided me with a list of things to try as well as a number of instructional videos - the after sales service really was exceptional. I emailed Kiki a few times over the next week and always got a quick and helpful reply within 24hrs, often sooner.Having worked out it was a coverage issue I searched to find out the best network for the area. I asked neighbours too as on-line coverage maps were often provided by or using data from network providers which seem to over-egg their own coverage. Vodafone (for me) appeared to be the best so I bought a £10 PAYG monthly SIM.I have no idea how the voodoo magic works but I literally just plugged that SIM into the camera, reset it using the little button next to the SIM card slot and it was up and running in about 90secs, panning up and down, left and right. Talking to my kids through it and them talking back to me.Now, coverage isn't great in my area. Even with Vodafone I only get 2 out of 5 bars. That said, I can stream video in HD from the camera day or night so I was pretty impressed.Mounting the camera was really easy as you mount a backing plate first and then the camera mounts onto that....you can do it all with a medium Phillips screwdriver. The solar panel was a little trickier but only because I put the solar panel, which comes in two halves, together and mounted it on the arm/bracket. The larger solar panel them made it tricker to screw through the holes of the smaller foot of the arm/bracket. My advice here would be to mount the arm first to somewhere solid, then mount the solar panel to the arm. It may have even said this in the instructions but as a man's man I know instructions are just one person's opinion of how it should be done 😜Anyway, the whole mounting process was less than 20 mins.Camera up and running and works great. I very much recommend this camera. For the money you seem to get a lot. An SD card isn't included but unlike some others in the price bracket that will only take a 64Gb card this camera will take a 128Gb and they're about £10. The cloud storage seems to be quite reasonable at about $20USD for a year. The silicone rubber "doors" which cover the ports/power lead/switches all appear solid and fit well.If you need a day/night security camera in a no wifi/no power location with two way speaking, infrared and LED integrated lights then I feel this is good for the money.A week after first install all is going well. The App shows the battery which has never fallen below 95% and the last week has been overcast with some rain.I feel I have to mention again, the aftersales service was really good. The same person (Kiki) dealt with all my questions which was great. Loads of pictures to help me navigate my way around and instructional videos, all provided by the helpful Kiki.I've already recommended this camera to friends and if I needed another I wouldn't hesitate to by one.Do read up first about how SIM cameras work and what data they consume so you're in the know. If you need a constant live stream to your mobile device they may not be the solution for you as all that data will be costly. For me in my situation though it's an ideal solution and a great product.
