I am using this Manuka Honey (and other brands) to treat skin burns and inflammation from radiotherapy. It has been incredibly successful, and not only healed the skin, but kept any further damage from happening. The Oncology Nurse said she is amazed at how well it worked, and will be recommending it to future patients. This honey is a little thin for using as a topical treatment, so I mix it with Honey ointment, and use a gauze pad. Also I called the company with a product question, and they got back to me right away, and were very helpful.

I had a tummy tuck and with that a complication with the incision. It was a bad complication and the incision was opened up &I even had a hole on one side & it looked horrible! I was told that more than likely I would need another surgery once it healed to suture the skin back together to make the incision look better (not sure if that makes sense). But anyway, at first I bought a different manuka honey and that made no difference at all on the wound. Then after some research I found this one and let me tell you as soon as I started using it the wound started healing & shrinking in size! I mean it was honestly amazing! The hole that I had also started closing up! This stuff is saving me and I won't need another surgery. I'm so happy I did my research and found it. Would totally recommend this stuff!

I bought this after I recieved 2nd degree burns on my hand. I had tried silver nitrate but the area was starting to get infected and had lots of granular tissue, swelling and redness. I applied this daily and had immediate effect on the inflammation and swelling. The granular tissue was easier to debride as it had softened during the night. It did sting a little when applied. Encouraged, I stuck with it over the course of a week or more and continued the debriding. Every time I would stop and think it was enough and I could stop the honey, the the scabbing would start again, so back to the honey I went. In the end the area is a deep red but had no scarring and very minimal raised areas. As a test I used silver nitrate and antiobiotic cream on another small area from the same burn and that area is now raised and scarred though it was a smaller area than the honey treated site.I will continue to use this honey for all my burns from now on. The only problem is it IS messy but if you wrap it in stretch medical gauze that will keep the stickiness off YOU and allow the wound to continue to breathe. I believe those that did not have good results did not continue the treatment long enough, did not properly do wound care like debriding as you would with any other burn treatment or they wrapped the wound with the honey in regular bandages which didnt allow proper ventilation of the site.on a side note, I am currently trying out other treatments with the honey, like for warts and am also having successes.

I was really confused about which manuka honey was the real deal. I have read about UMF and MGO but a lot of it seemed like people trying to sell their own product. I settled on this one because it's medical grade and I wanted it for topical use. I had what I thought was a bug bite on the side of my face that I picked at and it got very angry and weepy. I realized after it hadn't healed in a week that there was a good chance it was staph and not a bug bite after all. I had been using hot compresses, bacitracin, and keeping it covered with gauze most of the time. It just got angrier. In desperation I ordered this and applied it immediately when I received it. Within 24 hours it was totally free of inflammation and wasn't getting oozy anymore. 2 days later it's healed 95% with new pink skin and a little dryness around the edge. It's wonderful.From what I understand, medical grade is sterilized with radiation - but not heated - to retain the benefits but remove botulism etc. It is supposed to be the only kind to use topically.I'm not sure why so many people are using this primarily for internal use. I would think a non irradiated kind would be better in that regard.All in all, this brand has worked very well in my experience. It saved me a trip to the doctor which is worth the price alone.
