Could possibly marginally effect the life span positively. Extensive tests would be required for a diagnosis. Worked fine right out of the box. There is no way I can tell you if I got any improvement due to the claims of more power, but it runs great, and looks good. The set of eight was packaged very nicely, well protected for shipping. Some people have clamed early failures, and if that happens i will certainly update this review.
