IbanezST101 Foldable Guitar and Bass Guitar Stand, Black

I've been looking for a stand for my bass, and being as it's an Ibanez bass I thought it'd be good quality - and it really is. It's really easy to set up, and I like that it came with a bag so I can take it with me if I need to.

These are excellent guitar stands! They might not offer quite the same degree of security that a tripod stand with a tall neck support (preferably with a restraining catch as well), or a rack would offer, but as low-profile stands go, these are steady and give off an air of solidity.They are all-metal, and with guitar-friendly contact surfaces, and can be set up within 2 seconds. They lock solid and support as well as these small-footprint stands can do. They fold up small enough to be slipped into an external pocket of a guitar gig-bag and would accompany a busker around town with no problems at all.For this to come at a sensible price point is even better.

Great design, I love the back facing middle leg as it makes the stand very stable. Looks good but feels a bit plasticky though I think it’s up to the job. Comes with a nice bag too. Great for acoustics but too close to the floor for electrics as the strap buttons, even with the strap off, hit the floor before the lower bout touches the stand. Shame really, I liked it but can’t use it.

Taking stands to a practise can be a chore, especially when you forget to take it. This is the perfect solution that goes in the guitar bag!

Yet more duplicitous selling by Amazon, the stand can cause problems to the finish/lacquer on the guitar... this is only detailed on the package so no way of knowing prior to purchase..Ibanez say "COVER STAND WITH A CLOTH" essential design fault which AMAZOn keep quiet aboutI suggest looking for something better. NOT A HAPPY BUNNY

Does the job well

It's actually made of metal, with rubberised plastic sleeves covering the lower halves of the two forward facing leg arms where the guitar body sits, there's a generous amount of foam padding to protect the underside of your guitar with distinct inner and outer notchings on the arm rests.The inner notches for thinline guitars such as solid body electrics, the outer notches for deep bodied acoustic guitars - there's raised "stops" on the ends of the arms topped off with rubber tips for extra security, there's another rubberised foam pad facing forward at the tip of the "A" frame to support and grip the back of the guitar body.The real game changer in my opinion is the rubber tipped, third rear extending center leg, easily swung out to provide rock-steady stability - I sat my very heavy, laminated thru-neck 6 string Tobias electric bass guitar on a hard, slippy lino floor, the stand was rock stable with no slippage. Once the three arms were fully extended the stability was pretty near perfect!For me there's no downside whatsoever, it's well built, lightweight and folded down it fits neatly in the front pocket of my gig bag - highly recommended!
