Can this be used in the cab of my van when it does a regenerates and the co2 burn off comes into the cab

In the gas industry the comfort level in an indoor environment should not exceed 0.28% CO2 or 2800 ppm over an 8 hour shift. The instrument is suitable to measure this figure and may help you. My advice is to speak to the manufacturer of the instrument to determine whether it is the best tool for the job. As a disclaimer, I’m giving best advice but cannot be accused of any wrong doing as the advice is regarding the gas industry, not regeneration from petroleum or Diesel engines.

Does it show the level of co2 above 2000?

Hi, yes, it can show the reading which above 2000. The range of CO2 is 0~9999ppm (2001~9999 out of scale).

Does this comply to BS8494?

It works accordingly to BS 8494 but approved by BS is another matter.
