I use this to store all of my 3D printing files on. I store it in the laptop case and haven't been too careful with it and it's lived up the rugged behaviour. Not the fastest being a 5500 mechanical, but if you're after a big, reasonably priced, rugged external to keep all your files on hand without needing an internet connection, this will do the job.

Good quality, pleasant feeling. I wish there were other colours of the rubber enclosure.

I have been working in the computer industry for over 40 years now and when I need a ruggedized external hard disk that will not let you down I always go for a LaCie. They have never let me down and I use they for my external backups as they are so easy to connect/disconnect and so get locked away in a safe. They are used as backup devices for various NAS boxes and various laptop/PC operating systems and I have never had issues with compatibility.

I own a few Lacie 5TB external drives. I am just about buy another one. Always have 3 backups on 3 discs, just in case. But so far, they are excellent drives for backups.

This product works fast and keeps on working at a good speed for me, It stays cool and uses the new c type connection used in my laptops and was a good fit in my setup, It has a rubber cover on it and it’s good that I know of it falls by mistake it will be undamaged.

Great external storage which is super easy to use as I simple plug it in my laptop. I don’t carry it with me but if I did, I wouldn’t worry about dropping and it getting damaged as protective case seems to be quite good.
