While on the positive side they are safe to use around humans and pets, on the negative side they do not work quickly, so patience is a virtue. My only real complaint is that the tabs don't hold them closed in the triangular tent shape without being secured with your own piece of tape. They can spring open and glue themselves to clothes you're trying to protect.
