Westcott Mini Ceramic Safety Blade Box Opener - Green

A stunner of a gadget. Such a simple little thing but since buying this my unboxing and box breakdown times have dropped significantly. It's really, really good at its job. goes through all kinds of tape with ease, and the little safety slider that covers the blade tip is great. it means you can keep one of these in your pocket with no problems. The finger loop means you can get it on a key chain or hang it in the kitchen on a hook. you can slap it on a lanyard if you feel like it, I don't know what sort of guy you are. There are replacement blades available for this which is great. I think the Wescott box cutter is an essential piece of kit every home should have in this day and age. I plan on getting more to give to family and friends. I'm that impressed by this little beauty.

Must have for every set of keys. Used for opening parcels and letters, very good ergonomic design, not strenuous on joints in fingers. Stays sharp for long. Have never had to replace any ceramic blades. Can slice through boxes and paper but not human skin, perfectly safe.

I use this mini box opener daily for opening letters, parcels, and packages, and it’s been a useful tool. The ceramic blade is sharp and cuts cleanly through tape and paper with ease, and the protective cover does its job well to keep it safe when not in use. However, one drawback is the build quality. The two halves of the opener feel a bit flimsy, almost as if they’re on the verge of coming apart when handled. It’s lightweight and small, which is good for portability, but it sacrifices some sturdiness as a result. For light tasks, it does the job perfectly, but I wouldn’t rely on it for heavier or more demanding cutting. Overall, it’s a convenient, safe, and effective little tool, just not quite as robust as I’d hoped.

Great safety knife. It’s fair priced. Handy size as I put it on my work keys. I use this every day at work. Easy to open n close. And does the job. I’ve had this a while now and it’s still going strong. You can also flip the blade round.

Great little gadget but too flimsy and lost the blade after just couple of uses.

I bought this box opener when my “Slice” cutter was accidentally washed in the washing machine and parts of it were never recovered! At first it seems a handy device (and cheap!) but it became obvious rather quickly that it is not anywhere near as good at opening parcels as the “Slice” opener: - The blade does not protrude far enough to easily cut through packing tape making box opening rather frustrating. You have to go over the same place a few times to make sure it has all been it all the way through the tape. - The shape is not ergonomic and I found it fiddly to hold. - The blade is not retractable and so is not especially safe. In the end I was so frustrated that I ordered the “Slice” box opener again and I’m much happier with that decision.
