Very plain, very simple, just for every day and I would not use it for special company. I will pull out my silver plate for that and my sterling silver. This is no substitute, but it’s good for every day if somebody just stops in unexpectedly and you happen to have a cake in hand!

This is a decent, heavier knife and server set. I have been to a few weddings at which their knife broke at the cake-cutting. This one felt heavy and worked great for my son's cake-cutting. For the price, the quality was surprisingly good!
