DR Strings DDT Electric Guitar Strings (DDT-11)

I swear by these strings. Been using them for a few years now. They’re consistently great quality, and long-lasting. They feel good, sound good, and almost never break.

I've got to admit that the hype regarding any new kind of string is always disappointing to me when it comes to the end result. These strings, however, lock it down pretty well. Sound: They sound great! Not as cutting as Hi-Beams, which is a shame, but they do sound great. The difference comes from a trade off for stability with the round core in the DDT's for brightness with the hex core in the Hi-Beams. You could do far far worse. However, the place where these strings come through tonally is with how tight and articulate they sound for rhythmic playing. Definition and punch for days on your wound strings and they retain a shocking amount of clarity should you feel the need to drop tune. If you do drop tune, do yourself a favor and try a set of these. Feel: They have a bit of stiffness to them, but in a good way. If you like to tune your guitar down (I play a half step dropped, Eb) but don't like how loose 10's or even 11's feel on some guitars... then this is what you probably want. They feel solid. If you're looking for something with a more lucid feel than what you're used to, these would be a step in the wrong direction. I personally like how they feel quite a bit. Function: They do exactly as they claim. They hold tune extremely well even right out of the packaging. There is a minor (and circumstantial) downside though; if your guitar nut is cut precisely to the gauge of string you play and plan on buying in the equivalent DDT line then these could be a bit of a snug fit. Sure, they'll fit alright, but my G string which, admittedly, already 'pinged' in the first place does so even more with the slightly beefier G string in the DDT set. That's not a fault of the strings, but a side effect I've experienced nonetheless. Verdict: I own roughly a dozen guitars and most of them are tuned to Eb and strung with DR Hi-Beams. Chances are these will take over half of my guitars which see more playing time and aren't going to miss the cutting edge from the Hi-Beams. They're fantastic all around.

these hold tuning really well. but then again, the guitar i have them on has always held tuning real well anyway, but now its even more so, especially for dropped tunings... that being said, this is the first time i have used these strings. i am not a pro musician, but i understand what i like and so far, i like these strings. added just the right amount of heavy to the low end, but didnt muddy the high end either, like that happens when you use regular string gauges at lower and drop tunings. i wanna say these are a heavy bottom with a regular, or maybe light top end, as far as how they feel and sound. as of right now, these will be my new go-to for any time i need strings for lower and drop tunings from here on out

For close to twenty-five years now I have using DR strings on all of my guitars. Frankly I won't even consider using anything else. Only recently I decided to try a set of DR'S DDT (Drop Down Tuning) strings. I knew they would be great because DR made them, but they have exceeded my expectations, and that's pretty hard to do. The lows are punchy and thick, and the higher notes maintain that beautiful DR chime. I can now keep one of my guitars permanently tuned to drop B without it going out of tune. Well done DR as always.

These strings are great - I like the feel but they did lose a lot of their brightness and got a bit rubbery after minimal play

I've used many different strings through the years, with many different styles of music. I would have to agree that these strings do a very good job at being drop tuned, not feeling like slop, and still retaining a musical tone. They have an average life span and are an average cost. I have tried the 12's and they are similar; but just a bit to stiff at drop C (for my taste).

Drop C holding nicely with great tone. So far so good, time will tell how well they hold tone, tuning and finish.

I tune so low it's gross, these work sooooo good tuned low no BS. Buy them! I play death metal. Jackson V

I never really believed that string quality could make a difference but this is something else. I'll be using these 11-54 for a while

Las compré para mi novio, son las únicas que usan y en ningún otro lugar se consiguen. Me comenta que son muy buenas para tocar Metal. La verdad yo no sé de eso pero él sí haha así que si las quieren para eso, ampliamente recomendadas.

A pesar de alternar la afinación entre Drop B, C y C standard las cuerdas han mantenido la tensión y afinación en cada una de estás.
