A Double Dose of Chic Mystique!
This 2 disc collection is pure joy and includes so much more than the expected MONSTER hits Chic is best known for. To a long time club kid like me, it is a treasure I was elated to discover. What I really like is that some of the versions of my favorite Chic songs are either extended or slightly different from the singles, but not so much that it would bother the purists. "My Forbidden Lover:" is even tastier here than the album version or single. I also love hearing some of the not-so-huge hits, most of which got dance club play but weren't massive chart hits like "Good Times" or "Le Freak'. I had never heard "Saturday" or the Johnny Mathis cut, both of which are very enjoyable and Chic-like. Good to hear "Spacer" also, which was later sampled by Alcazar in the smash '90s dance record "Crying at the Discotheque". Also included is the lesser known Chic-produced "Why" by Carly Simon ( ! Carly Simon and Chic?? who would've guessed?) and it is good. (In fact, I bought the single years ago; that's how much I loved anything Chic were involved in.) Everyone has a favorite Chic-produced track or Chic record, and mine is Sister Sledge's "He's the Greatest Dancer", which has one of the hottest, sublimely funky intros I have heard on ANY dance record; (Turn it up; it's magic.) So happy Nile rogers has had a resurgence of success (with Daft Punk) and I will be seeing him live at the Hollywood Bowl to get my Chic on. Is it any wonder at all that my favorite single of the past year was "Get Lucky" because to me it had Niles and that unbeatable Chic mystique. You can't go wrong with this fantastic collection. Never mind the term "disco"; this is just great music. period! And now that I've written this review I must put on my roller skates and grab some clams on the half-shell..

Great Collection of CHIC songs
First - the remastering is definitely a step up from the other collections. Prior to this I had the CHIC collection released in the early 90's. The sound and details on this are just right. Not too loud or overly compressed. Fresh sounding and detailed. But what I really love is the additional music by groups outside of the "direct" CHIC group, i.e. Sisters Sledge, Debbie Harry, Diana Ross. It's a great rounded out collection of "CHIC" Organization hits. And the selections are put together well - the manner in which the songs are arranged in their order is done in a good way.

It's all there and more!
Listening to CHIC Up all Night is like going out on a Friday AND Saturday night all in one. All of the radio hits are there along w/ the best of the club hits. This is the soundtrack to the late 70's.The only problem w/ this album, and I'm sure it has been said over and over again ... WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE JOHNNY MATHIS CUTS? Come on ... How much longer do we have to wait for the unreleased LP?

Chic-tastic
I think this is much better and a better recoding than the Atlantic label's Best of Chic. Songs are similar, but better placed and it includes a few others that the best series either discarded or used shorter edits. Are the extra artists prolific? It depends on your tastes and how much you really like Nile Rodgers. However, this night version is better than the other "day" edition.

Excellent for all night long
All of Chic's gratest hits are presented here, including the Top Ten U.S. pop hits "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)," "Le Freak," "I Want Your Love," and "Good Times." Additionally, there are hits and notable deeper cuts from Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Sheila & B Devotion, Carly Simon, Norma Jean Wright, and Debbie Harry.

Chic as it should be heard!
What's really good about this release is the quality of the recordings & someone went back & did a painstakingly good remastering job plus the production not only is concerned with Chic but with other artists (Sister Sledge, Carly Simon, Diana Ross, etc.) that get the production genius of Nile Rodgers & Co.

Wow !!! Is what you'll say when you buy this ....and give it a listen.
These guys were such a prolific song writing/producing duo ( Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards) R.I.P. Bernard .... That you'll be blown away by the amount of musical hits on these 2 CD's some are with their super group Chic others by people they wrote for and produced. Good Music !!!
