Fine Handcrafted Solid Wood Magic Wand for Witches and Wizards, The Night Owl Brown

I bought this for my wife after we were inspired by the wands at Harry Potter world in Orlando. The licensed wands are cast resin, which look and feel very nice, but I wanted a real wood wand. Since I don't have a lathe at my house right now, I took to Amazon and was not disappointed. My wife loves owls, so this was absolutely perfect. She was very happy to see this when she unwrapped it. I was worried that it might be broken after shipping since it had happened to a few other reviewers, but ours arrived in perfect condition. It's well-made, well-finished with a nice satin finish. It is a bit big, even to me, and I understand that the details would be difficult to get if it were smaller, but, the one in the picture does look a little more proportionate. Just something to consider.It is solid wood (Terminalia chebula; an Asian fruit tree that I've never heard of, but seems to have a tight grain conducive to detailed carving) and has a good weight to it.Overall it's very nice indeed, and my wife is ready to start collecting and displaying even more.

I chose this particular wand style ( owl ) from the varied selection available, because owls are my spirit animal and I felt it best reflected the feel and look I want to demonstrate. It is good solid real hand crafted wood and as such has a pleasant weight and balance to it. It is a proper length and girth and is easily controlled at rest or in motion. It has no sharp edges or fragile details. I'm very pleased with my order and am looking forward to purchasing another soon as a gift. My wife also bought one for herself as well. This is a cos-play worthy, party or Halloween item for nearly all ages to appreciate and would be anyone's prized centerpiece of their own magic collection. The only downside I see so far is the site selection is mostly parodies of franchise or basic Wicca looking wands. Some elemental, druidic painted and Steam Punk types would be most sought after I think.

I bought this as a gift for someone else.If the stock image is anything to base judgement on, then this is definitely a handmade item, as the one I received varied *significantly* from the provided image. It was still an owl, but the body shape and detail was completely different, and especially (most noticeably) the eyes -- I would go so far to judge the aesthetics of the one I received as being inferior to the one presented in the official image for this product posting. Hence I give 4 stars because of the failure to manage expectations and the significant variance in what I would call aesthetic quality. The one in the photo must have been carved by a pro, and the one I received looked either rushed or amateur by comparison.This is still a quality product and made a great gift for someone who hadn't seen the original image and had no such expectations.

The heft and weight of this wand is amazing. We bought several of the prop replica wands from Harry Potter too and I would say these are as good as those, maybe better with the weight of the wood. My son is both an owl lover and Harry Potter fan and loves this wand. I was really impressed with the quality, heft of wood and size (about 15 inches.). Looks like the real deal--or is--if you are into wands.

My 5-year-old grandson, who is into all things Harry Potter, absolutely loves this owl wand! It is sturdy and beautifully crafted. He takes it with him on camping and hiking trips, just in case he encounters some natural phenomenon that needs wizarding…like the magical hollow tree he discovered, with a tiny door over the opening - an elf home, no doubt. This wand is very authentic!

I’ve had this in my wishlist for almost two years and I’m so happy that I waited to buy it. It’s very well made and has a nice weight to it. The carved details are absolutely beautiful and the little owl is my favorite thing ever! The owl pictured in the ad is definitely different from what I received, but that’s what makes it mine and I absolutely love it!

So I ordered this wand, not really expecting much for the price but boy was I in for a surprise. This wand is fantastic! I love the owl addition and the swirls that make up the design.Plus it has a very nice weight to it as well. I am going to be ordering more of these as I feel this is one of the nicest wands I have seen yet!

The wand is BEAUTIFUL, but we only moved forward with this purchase because our daughter was very specific on the design she preferred for her wand. Our other child didn’t have a preference & her cheaper wand is much sturdier with a metal support through the middle. I wouldn’t have thought anything of it without having the 2 wand side by side & knowing the price tag difference.
