Does this leak detector work on leaks found in soil not just under pavements?

Yes. There is a probe included with the kit. We have already located three leaks 2-4 feet deep using the probe in soil and gravel. This locator has saved us a lot of time and money hiring outside companies.

how does this unit charge with the ubs connection the unit to a cell phone charger not totally sure thanks

The head phones can charge easily with provided usb wire, since they can be used with Bluetooth. The actual unit uses an electric outlet plug in charger.
