Does this detector work for checking for mold?

It can check for TVOCs (organic compounds dissolved in air) and PM2.5 (micron dust levels) which can indicate presence of mold but it does not specifically check for concentration of mold spores. Thanks for asking.

In testing for formaldehyde & you have a certain product do you place a plastic bag around the product and insert the tester inside?

That is a very good question: 1. What I would do is place the tester in the bag without any product to get a baseline and then place the item to be tested in the bag for about 1 day to achieve equilibrium. 2. Then you can put the tester in the bag for at least 30 minutes or until readings stabilize. 3. Subtract the tested item reading from the baseline reading to get the formaldehyde emission amount from the tested item. Hope this answers your questions, take care!

I just received my new detector and no ebook or directions on how to get it. It doesn’t look like Amazon is very responsive.

Can this monitor be used for outdoor air quality monitor?

The monitor can check for outdoor particulate matter (PM2.5) levels; TVOC and HCHO levels are generally negligible outdoors as they are from synthetic sources.
