JOBY GripTight GorillaPod Magnetic XL Tripod

Really big fan of the stand, as it is easy to position and can be adapted for most surfaces - I was initially skeptical about the magnetic feet but these have proven to be useful!HOWEVER, I am very disappointed with the phone adapter inability to cope in light winds! I am aware that an iPhone 6 is not the most streamlined object, but hoped that buying the stand specifically for this phone would deliver a product which was sturdy enough to prevent the phone vibrating. Instead, even in light winds, the phone shudders, resulting in disappointingly poor time-lapse videos and making real-time video recording almost pointless.This may be suitable for areas where no wind will be present, but I'm afraid I will need to upgrade to something sturdier if I want good quality videos.

I've been through two of these now and both have suffered from the same fault. The small cups which form the legs crack easily and then you lose all grip on that leg and eventually the leg falls apart. This is through pretty tame use too (ie, holding it by hand or wrapping it around something static). Nice idea but far too fragile to last any more than a couple of months. Disappointing for Manfrotto too.

The tripod itself looks great, however the phone holder barely grips my iPhone XS Max making it pop out of the holder when making the smallest of adjustments, also the tripod ball joints tend to buckle if set at awkward angles.Positives , the magnets are incredibly strong and will keep the tripod attached to metals surfaces with the weight all mobile phones.

I love this product, it holds either of my iPhones very securely. The legs are stiff enough when shaped to hold any form and the magnetic feet are super powerful and add great versatility. Yet to find an application it hasn’t been more than up to the task for

My complaint isn't about the seller. I've also experienced this issue with other brands too. It's the design of ball joint tripods. They just don't last.

Great price compared to high street. I use with a Nikon 1 J5 which is probably over the stated weight limit for this tripod but I have used in places where I otherwise wouldn't get the shot, e.g. clinging to tree branches.

Brilliant, surprisingly strong magnets. Have used it to attach to door hinges and hang it off a tree branch! Even found it handy to use the nails in a fence to grip better!

Really impressed; seems to be the solution for lots of mounting problems. The magnetic feature is useful. I had a gopro on it and it coped well.Recommended!
