It works

After tempering and getting it ready for the melt I liked how it retained the heat. While it was still hot it cleaned up and made it easy for me to do the next pour.so I'm sure that it will last longer than I expected. I had to make some bigger tongs so I could do the lift and pour. I'll see how it goes but for now it's going to get some use. I have no problem at this time. Except I'm going to have to use my Dremel to grind a pour grove Other than that it's a another tool on my bench. And I look forward to getting the most out of it. Update I really think that these are one of the best so I went for more

I wouldn't try melting silver or any other precious metal if you intend to pour in a mold and are making something nice. The graphite chips away as the metal melts leaving graphite chunks in your pour. Stick with high purity graphite or sands.

Holds up well. Follow directions to maximize life.
