SMALLRIG1/4" to 3/8" Convert Screw Adapter (5 pcs) - 1610

After around 15 years of faithful, reliable, service, a few weeks ago, whilst working on a promo film, the liquid head on my tripod developed a crack along the section that holds the pan and tilt arm. As these things are not cheap, I did some investigating, and found a supplier in Hong Kong who could replace it with an authentic head, for around half the price of UK suppliers, and with no carriage costs. When it arrived, it did not have the down-step adapter to take it from ⅜" to ¼". This fits perfectly, and, considering the use the equipment gets, 3 spares, are no bad thing for a very modest price.

Another Smallrig marvel...If you are stepping up from 1/4" to 3/8", you need these little badgers from Smallrig. Perfect for what they do and an inexpensive solution to what might be an expensive problem.Personally, I have no problem with Smallrig products and if they manufacturer something I need, I always purchase Smallrig over other manufacturers regardless of +/- price differences.

These are well made adapters but sadly for me I didn't notice that they have a small flange at the top which protrudes above the surface. This does, no doubt, add strength but for my use - fitting a Manfrotto tripod head to a Velbon tripod - it doesn't work. In every other way, these are excellent.

Exactly as described. These are simply made, cheap and do exactly as described, convert a 1/4" photography thread to a 3/8" photography thread. Little shoulder and notch for fixing or removal with a coin or flat screwdriver. Don't expect the world and you won't be disappointed.

Nicely made but it’s a shame there’s five of them when I only wanted one.

Considering you get these thrown in for free with some accessories, the cost is pretty high for these. They do the job - I use these to attach 1/4" accessories to the "easy link" port on my Manfrotto tripod. They're easy to unscrew from that using a 10p coin. However, a hex base on these would be useful if they ever got stuck too tight on a tripod plate or something. But these are much the same as other adaptors, and function fine.

I never thought I would need more than one of theses but as my kit grows I find they come in more and more handy.
