How do you submerge the wand after the 1st ounce used? I now have to push the wand down with my finger. Messier than a regular bottle & wand.

The wand is activated by squeezing it and it pops up for children to blow, once released the wand goes back down. It is the squeezing of the bottle that makes the wand goes up and down. Daughter said it is messy when she played with it and even after it was refilled (messy).

Does this come pre filled?

Yes but you may want to buy a refill bottle with it since I used most of the initial bubble juice quickly

how does the top reservoir reload? I have an almost full bear, but no solution is getting in the reservoir with the wand.

I gently squeezed the bear until the reservoir filled to an adequate level. If you squeeze too hard and/or too fast, the reservoir and wand may pop out completely. Ours popped out once and was fairly easy to reseat.
