KWANWA Digital Alarm Clock Battery Operated Powered Only With Constantly Big 1.2'' LED Time Display Small for Travel desk Wall Bedside

This is a brilliant battery-powered digital alarm clock. In some ways this is quite an ordinary bedside type alarm clock, with a reasonable display, reasonable price, and OK time-keeping. But there is one thing which makes this clock exceptional - the fact that it is powered by 4 AA batteries! My application is somewhat unusual - I play in a band, and I wanted a battery powered clock with large, easy to see digits to put on my pedal board, so that I can see how long we have been playing, and how long to go until it is time to stop (some venues have quite strict curfews imposed by the local council, so stopping on time is essential if you want to be re-booked!). There are plenty of small clocks out there which fit the bill, but most are either mains powered, or require a button to be pushed to see the display! This clock has a big, clear, easy to read display, which is ALWAYS ON! The batteries are claimed to last a year, which is amazing! I had the original batteries in for 6 months, and they seemed perfectly OK, (with perhaps a very slight dimming of the display), however, I changed them as a precaution. However I have no doubt they would have gone on for much longer! The clock has an "auto-dim" mode, which dims the display slightly from (I think) 8 PM to 8 AM. This is probably quite useful if you use this as intended, as a bedside clock, but for my purposes I don't need this. I simply set the time 8 12 hours fast or slow, so that the display is at its maximum brightness at times when I need to use it! It is small enough to fit on my pedal board, the display is always on and timekeeping seems to be reasonable, with the clock gaining about 1 minute over a 6 month period. In summary this is an averagely good bedside (or pedalboard) clock, which is made exceptional due to its battery power, always on display, and long battery life!

Very clear and simple display. I just use it as clock, haven't used as alarm yet. It's very light and compact, and being battery powered it's easy to find a place to put it. I have the red display, I haven't tried it in full glaring sunlight but probably going to not be bright enough to see in those circumstances, but in a daylight room and at night it's perfectly clear with nice big numbers.

When my silent no tick analog bedside clock finally packed in I was at a loss to find a suitable replacement. I mainly wanted it to see what time it was during the night on occasion but didn’t want to venture out of the duvet to press the illumination button , nor did I want to have to plug it into a socket or USB to recharge. I eventually came across this permanently lit ,battery operated digital masterpiece of a clock with numerals so big that I have now re located it to the other side of the room without the need to even raise my head off the pillow. The illuminated numerals come in three different colour formats Red, Green or White . I chose the green one as it seemed the most restful. There are three different brightness setting LOW , MEDIUM or HIGH which in the interest of battery conservation and solely nighttime use ,I set to LOW. On the low setting it isn’t particularly visible in a bright room but for my use ideal in the bedroom. The clock itself can be set to either 12 or 24 hour format and has an alarm feature which because I have chosen an out of reach location in the room will not be used and since in any event setting the alarm on the phone would be my preferred choice these days.There is also a keyhole slot on the back should you wish to wall mount it. All in all a thoroughly decent clock highly recommended.

Lightweight,easy to programme with subtle night lighting

Nice clock but the display is too dim, even on the brightest setting. Fine for rooms that are dimly lit during the day though. If this is an issue then the blue display version is better. Keeps good time.

Great green colour, shows up well at night. Easy to move from room to room without having to unplug and then re do the time especially if there has been a power cut. Definitely good value easy to do the time settings and very accurate . The buttons are easy to use, haven’t used the alarm yet but I don’t think there’s going to be a problem. If I need an extra clock I will definitely get another one.

Nice looking will not be out of place anywhere unless you have a theme your particular about. Black surround and Dark Blue display good together as numbers are easy to read without surround distracting your eyes if you no what i mean. Good size display. Buttons at back have duel functions so do read the minimal instructions. Only thing i'd like is an Alarm switch for on and off on top. Don't know why but sometimes simple is best. Really like to give it 4.5 stars. Also really too heavy as a travel clock, with batteries, but you might take it just because it's a nice clock. Would have no hesitation in recommending it for the home. Clean lines means it would look good on any cabinet or shelf. No lead to power it but no lead to get in the way so can transfer it to another room easily without worrying about plug socket locations. I would buy another.

Fine product. I haven't noticed any problems mentioned in past negative reviews, I think the manufacturer has changed some things. It is bright enough to see in the day, but not too bright for night. The numbers are big and easy to see. I've only had it a week, so I can't say much about battery life, but since I use rechargeable batteries I don't expect any problems. I don't find the settings difficult to change. Perfect that it doesn't have a power cord, the batteries are enough.

Good display, any one can buy without thinking. Delivery it will take almost one month but still you can wait for this product.

The main concern from all buyers will be battery life and accuracy. 1) For real life alkaline battery life test for my last 3 month use, each battery voltage will drop about 0.1V every 3 months. The unit can still operate with 1.2V. That means 4x new alkaline batteries will last about 9 to 12 months with lowest brightness level. The time can be read clearly from 3 meters away in total darkness with lowest brightness level. (Unit provided 3 levels of brightness) 2) The time is accurate within 30s after 3 months usage. I used 4x alkaline Battery. Now they are about 1.2V.

Ben tevreden met deze wekker. Slechts één minpuntje : zelfs in de minst heldere stand (van drie keuzemogelijkheden) is de lichtsterkte te hoog. Ik heb twee stroken blauwe folie op maat geknipt en over het scherm gekleefd. Nu is de lichtsterkte precies goed.
