Hours of fun
Easy to assemble and strong enough for Daddy to sit on the edge and join in the fun. Although having an electric screwdriver did make assembly a little bit easier. This has been in the garden now for over 12 months and has been moved a couple of times and it's as good as new. My only wish would be the option to buy a hard cover to keep the elements out as the plastic cover provided is starting to wear and tear. It's a good size sandpit which allows two, possibly three children to play happily together. Obviously the children love it; which child doesn't want a sandpit in their back garden?

Great item, but needs a lot of sand
The sandpit is easy to put together, and fairly sturdy. The listing says it needs about 30 kg if plays and to fill to 10cm but we added 40kg to start and it wasn't even 3cm deep. We have added another 75 kg, 115kg in total, and it is just about 10cm deep, not the 30kg stated. In the end, the sand cost more than the sandpit.

Like hoping for a steak dinner and getting a cold McDonalds burger instead.
UPDATE April 2016: This Sand Pit is dead. It can't withstand the weather, the lid (brought separately) doesn't keep water out. Whether filled or unfilled, the Sand Pit itself is a nightmare to move. Don't bother. 2014: Bought for 4yo's birthday. He LOVES it. But he's not the most discerning of toddlers and I'm less easily impressed. The facts are: It's a sandpit, it fits together well enough, it's easy to construct and the instructions are clear. All the necessary parts were included (you'll need a phillips screwdriver), it was packaged well and there was no stress in building this; two sets of hands managed it in 15 minutes. When constructed, it's a reasonable size and requires about 150-180kg of sand to adequately fill it. Still, however functional it is, for the price this is not an impressive product. I would say that this is a £40 max purchase. Why? - The wood is of a very basic quality. Not damaged or sub-standard, just utterly basic. It has rough edges, is not precisely cut and has many knots, meaning a couple of the screws don't catch. - The horizontal rows have slats, slotting together well enough but with no secure fix. The ledge is the only part of the item that is firmly attached (you screw it into the top slats). This may be practically helpful in terms of taking the pit apart quickly and storing it easily but if your children are rough or overly curious I imagine it won't take much force to pull apart. The problem is exacerbated because there is no solid base, just a thin porous fabric to allow water to drain. Again, this is not necessarily a problem in itself, but it also means that once the sand is in you won't be re-locating the pit easily. I anticipate this fabric getting pretty grim underneath and needing replacing. The biggest disappointment (although not a surprise based on other reviews) is that it comes with a pretty basic tarpaulin cover which is ill fitting and does not adequately protect from the rain. A lid can be purchased separately http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sand-Box-Lid-wooden-hexagonal/dp/B0013HCGAG/ref=pd_bxgy_k_h_b_cs_img_y but knowing what I know now about the quality of this sandpit's wood, and given the 1* reviews, £65 seems a little disingenuous (not least because it's the same price as the pit itself). I'm not saying it's terrible - it does what it's meant to do, but don't set your expectations too high. I expected a little more in terms of quality considering the price tag. As my subject suggests, I can't argue that it's not a functional product, it just isn't a very impressive or satisfying one.

Great Sandbox
Great sandbox very sturdy and well loved by my 4yo. Can be a little fiddly to to assemble and required pin point accuracy when doing each of the corners however a bit of patients does the job. can be assembled with one person. Only feedback would be a better cover but you can get these on the cheap.

Much better than expected
Liked the product, although the reviews were good, they were quite divided. No problem in assembling. It looks lovely. Everything works. Previous buyers were saying the bottom cover is too short and it slips out from under the sandbox. Well, it is large enough. We have stapled ours to teh walls of the sand box to keep all in place. The finishing of the wood is good and it looks smart. Outside has not rained yet so we do not know how the wood behaves. Waiting for the sand to be delivered and get into action. I was worried the corners might be too sharp, but they are not. I would recommend this product.

Great tortoise run
Have a very young tortoise and this has made a great summer run for it. Have put plastic trellis mess over it and have a happy tortoise. However if you want to move it it comes apart and you have to rebuild it. I am not sure the edges are strong enough to take a large child if it is used as a sandpit - I'm a small adult but I wouldn't risk sitting on it. It also might break if children stand/jump on it.

Great size
This sandpit has been a great hit with my son. It is a very good size and is really sturdy. It took about 10 bags of sand to fill it just over half way (you don't need anymore than that) The plastic cover fits well but you will need to put something under it like a pole so it makes a tent shape so rain does not pool on top.

You get what you pay for
It’s not great. Many of the boards are ripped/cut in different widths so don’t line up or fit properly which causes ill fitting of the next sections too. One of the sections split open while assembling too, I had to modify it to complete. I don’t think it’s going to last very long.
