Amazing compressor.
I decided it would be fair to put it to good use first before writing a review. Purchased this on 17th Sep 2015, and it's now nearly a year on, 8th Sep 2016. Apologies if this ends up being too long, it's my full experience so far.The components on the compressor are mostly good. The handle isn't flimsy considering it's only being held in place by a grub screw. The wheels are solid rubber, are decently mounted, and make it easy to move the compressor around once you've got them on. I needed to put the wheels on in my living room before even considering getting it where I needed it to go (up the garden - keyword: up) and the sheer weight plus being by myself made it slightly awkward getting the bolts through the front castor wheel. Definitely easier resting it on some blocks but you know what it's like when you just want to get the wheels on and try out your new toy! :)The pressure switch does the job great though it's clearly a budget switch with only one adjustment screw (bolt in this case). It has a fixed differential so the compressor will kick in whenever it reaches about 2 bar below whatever you set as the cut off pressure. Sometimes I would prefer it to be more around 1 bar for some tasks but for most purposes it's fine. Coming from the factory mine was set to about 100 psi (7 bar) so I immediately tweaked it to 110. I'm not sure why but I thought the compressor was designed for 115 psi max until literally just last week. I went and upped it again to 120 psi (8.2 bar). 120 psi for me seems to be a better relationship between air volume and the motor/pump runtime. I'll be keeping an eye on how much more moisture I get though. The motor matches the duty cycle of the pump so it's as good a rating as it needs to be. When running the compressor is _very_ quiet. Mine is kept in its own little shed about 4 metres away from where tools are used the most, and all I can hear is the slightest rumble and then a slightly louder PFFSSHT when the compressor stops. This is another reason I went for a compressor that was belt driven, to make as little noise as possible so as not to annoy the neighbours. Before going any further I'll have to make a detour. The compressor I have is the second one I received. As other people have experienced the biggest downside is most definitely the courier but I also had a bit of bad quality control too. The packing was reasonable. A heavy duty cardboard box strapped to a piece of plywood and a couple of screws just barely enough to stop it moving. I had to use my axe to chop up the second box because unlike the 300lb gorilla delivering it, you can't rip it with your bare hands. The first compressor seemed great at a glance, it worked flawlessly and had almost no vibration. I was very happy then noticed that it had a bent flywheel and the motor was very badly aligned. I took the cage off and unbolted the motor to align it myself, but quickly realized it was in the best position possible because the piping coming out of the pump was in the way of where it needed to go. You also can't remove the flywheel without a bearing puller so if Wolf did send you one out, most people wouldn't be able to replace it without potentially causing more problems. These problems would cause premature failure in the long run so I requested another to be sent out.Wolf were very understanding and requested I package the first one back up to be collected by the courier. I'm not sure how exactly they expect a less resourceful customer to send it back with the packaging it came in. I don't own a strapper but luckily I had kept the plywood, the box and thrown the cut straps into it just in case. I cut some strips of plywood to screw over the rear wheel mounts and then cut a piece of 1/4" plywood I had to the same size as the top of the box so I could then wrap the straps back round from underneath and staple them to the top. Needless to say it went back in better packaging than it arrived with - or so I thought until the next day when the courier guy tried lifing one handle side of the cardboard box too quickly and ripped half of the box apart! The second one I received was almost perfect. This one does vibrate a bit more and has a slight wobble when it's running. This causes the cage to vibrate some and make an annoying rattle - but as I mentioned I don't mind because I can barely hear it running. After the second was sent out I got sent yet another message saying they were sending me a replacement, after I had just received the second. This meant they would have sent me a third compressor out for free and probably wouldn't even realize. Being an honest customer (rarity these days!) I quickly sent them a message letting them know and hoped they might have agreed to a small discount or something on an air hose reel given that I had just saved them the courier fee and the sale of a new compressor, but sadly not! There are only a few things I would consider problems. The drain valve is the small brass screw type. It's slow, tedious, difficult to untighten sometimes, and also messy if you don't wear gloves. I bought some threaded pipe, pipe fittings, and a ball valve to make it much easier to drain off the water. The location of the hole for the valve and the shape of the cylinder also need better thinking. There's always going to be a puddle of water inside because of those two things, as well as the incline the compressor rests at. The compressor also comes with euro (stubby) PCL fittings which I ended up spending about £80 replacing with PCL.I have found that it runs perfectly fine with a 13A plug. The only time the compressor needs some extra oompf and will blow the fuse is when the oil in the pump is too cold. I bought a pack of 50 13A fuses expecting to go through them fast in the colder weather, but you have just enough time when turning the compressor on to realize if it's too cold from the noise it makes, and save the fuse from blowing. I've not found it any hassle heating the oil/pump up once with a fan heater in the winter. All in all it's amazing value for money and the one I have has worked flawlessly from day 1. I've used it to give new life to a metal shed with a HVLP spray gun (in that photo the inside was on the first coat), spray things with an airbrush (most recently the slats for the roof on some squirrel feeders when I decided the yacht varnish was getting too messy!). I can use the HVLP gun constantly and it can provide more cfm than it'll ever need at 50 psi - 50 psi already being too much for HVLP. The only thing it won't be able to keep up with is a big air sander, the smaller 50mm ones are probably the limit - it just depends how long you intend to use those sorts of higher psi and higher volume tools for.

Great compressor & delivery
I saw the same compressor under a different badge name on a different site & was about to pull the trigger when an additional delivery charge of £40 was attached at check out. Thankfully, I searched Amazon where the item was on sale. It worked out a £100 saving which included the free shipping via Amazon. The compressor is very sturdy & well made. Three tough heavy duty wheels make this robust machine east to manoeuvre. The machine comes complete in a plywood & cardboard crate although the wheels and pull handle bar need attaching. You will need 14 & 17mm spanners for attaching the wheels & a 5mm allen key (tools not supplied) to attach the handle bar Also supplied is a 500ml bottle of oil although mine came full of oil. A little glass window in the pump case allows a visual inspection. Its very quiet when running, particularly in comparison to my small direct drive 10L compressor. The machine is not supplied with a plug, so you will need to fit your own.The operators manual, which is basic, states it may trip your fuseboard on start up because of the 3 HP motor and may require a 16A dedicated outlet but It runs fine on my garage ring main.I have only used it briefly to make sure it works by inflating the tyres on three cars. The motor didn't kick in at all during this operation, meaning a good availability of air without recycling. I'm looking forward to using it more. Also, it was a Super fast delivery. Despite a stated two day delivery time The item arrived next day by FedEX. I wasn't home but saw a careful delivery by the courier on our home CCTV. Top marks to him for that. Not a lot more to say until I start using it for small paint spraying projects. So far I would by happy to recommend the compressor, particularly at the current price.

This is a fantastic air compressor
This is a fantastic air compressor. An equivalent unit from machine mart or anywhere else will cost upward of £450 and this one is just as well built and sturdy. It comes with NTC quick connects which wont fit the PCL connectors you find in most stores in the UK but they are easy and cheap to change over if wanted, that said I just left them on as most airtools come with them fittings as standard and wont fit back in to the their box with the longer PCL fittings attached. It's worth checking the compressor over for damage on arrival as an item as large as this has a higher change of being damaged by the courier than smaller items. Mine arrived well packaged but the plastic cowling on the cylinder head was cracked. I sent an email to the seller through amazon stating it was cracked and they posted a new cowling which arrived the next working day free of charge and free of fuss. It's a top quality air compressor from a top quality company for half the price of anywhere else, highly recommended.
