Very convenient
I did not purchase for it's intended purpose. I wanted the telescoping rod with the 8mm bolt threading. I made a few other attachments for it like a small fishing net. I find the poles sturdiness a so-so. If fully extended and lifting something with the tip while holding the handle I would say 10 lbs may be straining it. The twist and lock is smooth but need to take care in keeping fine particulate out of it. Straight stabbing pressure is quite good but lining the whole pole up is the most ideal way to use any stick without breaking it.

Bouncy boi killer 3000
I bought this to help murder invasive cane toads in our yard. He have a puppy and he wants to eat everything that moves and a cane toads poison can kill a puppy in 45 minutes. It serves this purpose well enough. After every bouncy boi I poke, I have to grab the end and tighten everything back down as it comes loose because nothing really locks into place. I wouldn't use this on decent sized fish or anything but it helps keep the bouncy bois at bay.

New tool/toy for me.
I wanted to try this product out for a purpose other than fishing. In my case I often go out on the lake to collect trash off the bottom (I’m retired) typically I use a grab all tool, as used for picking up trash or for reaching things off the top of a shelf. In most cases this works, until you have something really heavy to lift. This is where a fish hook comes in, it allows me to hook most objects and drag them into the canoe without tipping myself over. This particular fish hook holds a few advantages for me, such as.1-It seems solid enough so I’m not worried about it bending if used with common sense.2-I find its triangular shaped handle easier to grip than a circular one.3-Since I won’t be using it very often, being collapsible makes it much easier to store until needed.4-The locks on it are the same type used on my tripods. A simple flip of the lever to lock or unlock.5-The hook feels strong enough for my intended purpose. I’ll give the threads a drop of Loctite to keep it from spinning itself out. This is going to be a nice addition of tool/toys to play with.

Good product but harpoon piece falls off easily.
We used the gaff once and the harpoon piece fell of easily. Had to keep putting it back on. Finally solidified it with cement which make it harder to travel with. However, the gaff itself once we secured all pieces worked great.

Not too bad
Quality is good bit flimsy when it is extended.

Does not extend to 5 feet
The pole ia about 3 ft high, doesn't extend more than that. Very disappointing and updset about this. It also looked bigger and better built in the pictures, it is a weak and thin piece of metal, very wobbly.... would not recommend at all.

Not bad for the money
So the head screws into the shaft, which the main downfall is that if a fish starts spinning, it'll unscrew it. It's also telescopic, so aside from maybe sticking smaller fish or frogs, it's not strong enough to catch bigger fish. Not too bad tho.
