Dongar Dash Cam Power Adapter for Hyundai & Kia, 10-Pin Type H

Kia Sportage 2025. This connection should come as standard from the manufacturer but doesn’t. This adapter solves the annoying problem of forcing wires behind facia: there’s no need to with this. The adapter fits neatly, is hidden and is a perfect solution to wiring my Nextbase dashcam. 10 min job. Excellent product.

Works perfectly, easy to install, took about 3mins to sort out. Really pleased with my purchase, I would highly recommend it.

Brilliant piece of kit, wiring it into existing loom is fool proof, the hard bit is fitting the kit in the mirror housing, tried doing it without removing the whole trim but I would say is impossible. Once you’ve placed the new wiring fitting the trim is a piece of cake. Finished job is smart, very pleased.

This worked out of the box on my Hyundai Kona. The most worrying thing was removing part of the surround from the rear-view mirror/sensor facade on the windscreen. But watched a YouTube video and you just need to slide backwards the central part to expose the connector. Lost 1 star because the sticky strip to hold the adaptor onto the facade isn't very sticky.

Although not listed as supported, the manufacturer quickly confirmed the 10 pin Type H would work with a 2024 Kona Electric Ultimate, provided that it has a factory-installed non-digital auto-dimming mirror. They also sent a link to their own website for instructions and a video for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson which has a similar setup. This made things very straightforward for a quick and tidy installation all contained within the plastic shroud behind the mirror. A bit expensive for what it is but easily a great solution for simplicity, time to fit and neatness.

The perfect solution when you don’t want to hardwire the dashcam. No awful wires trailing anywhere, no taking up a USB socket or having one of those awful plugs sticking out of the 12v socket. It fits in with no issue, and there’s minimal wiring. We fitted it to a Nextbase 322GW, the connection with the mount was extremely tight but it does fit in, just. You also barely notice it’s there, we’ve got ours stuck to the windscreen, with the wires tucked into the headlining. We didn’t want it to be stuck to the plastic mirror surround. From looking it up, I think the usual way to fit it is to have the wires coming out from where the mirror arm is. Ours comes out at the top, so you can’t see the wires. I definitely recommend this product, worth the money and pretty much invisible apart from the little box.

A nice simple solution that saves much fitment time. I used this to mount a Nextbase dashcam in a 2021 Hyundai Kona, and the process took me less that 10 minutes. I previously have used the official Nextbase hardware kits in various vehicles which have been trouble free if a little fiddly. This solution is much quicker to install, quicker to remove if needed and you can be 100% sure that the wiring is not going to obstruct an airbag deployment. Comes with a useful trim tool and three different USB adapters - all from the USB A output of the adapter to USB Mini, Micro and C. None were compatible with the Nextbase input but I already had the correct lead so they became useful spares. I found watching a YouTube video more useful than any instructions provided. For my Hyundai Kona you needed the dimming interior mirror fitted in order for this adapter to work.

I own KIA Sportage SX (made in 2022) and I was excited ordering this connector for my dashcam. Regretfully, as you can see on the photo, it doesn't match the connectors I have in my car, which is quite strange and seems to be rather my problem, as many other people here reported that it fit their cars. The package came on time, non-damaged, and the quality was good, so I still add the stars, but I have to send it back.

This adapter worked perfectly with my 2025 Kia Sportage EX. Installation was incredibly easy, I only had to remove the small plastic cover around the rearview mirror arm, plug in the Dongar adapter, and connect my dash cam. No wire splicing, no running cables down the A-pillar, and the installation looks completely factory. It powers my dash cam reliably every time I start the car. If you have a 2025 Kia Sportage EX and want a clean, hidden installation, I highly recommend this adapter.
