Q: Amazon appear to be selling cheaper varta energy aa batteries labelled as more the more expensive longlife power batteries is this misrepresentation?

No idea, what I do know is that the Varta batteries that I have purchased are far more stable on output and appear to last longer, outdid the most popular battery when equipment lock would not work with other batteries, no problems with Varta batteries here at all.

Q: how long would these batteries last in a xbox one controller

Really depends on how much you use it. My son has these last for months in his X Box One controller and he uses it quite a lot. If you are not bothered about cost then the Energizer Ultimate Lithium is the best you can buy for life. Ikea Batteries are the best value in pence per mAH. The Varta High Energy is probably the best alkaline battery that you can buy though and the Amazon multi-packs are good value.

It's on the battery I checked my aa batteries and it's in the same place

Q: What is the performance like in remote controls... and not high draining devices?

I found them to work well in all devices.
