Rockler 359055 Lathe Dust Collection System D x L: 3" x 9" , Black

Looks to be a well made piece of equipment..received today so not tried it out yet, but it does come well recommended.Unfortunately I can't speak well of the delivery. It was within the given time but although I was busy within the garden I was unaware of the driver having delivered it and discovered it had been left just inside my gate in the Rockler packing showing what it was, even though I had asked for it to be put in an Amazon package. Had an email saying the driver handed the parcel to the resident! Which obviously was a lie.

to extract dust from a lathe . : > all of a sudden after turning and twisting the parts of the dust extractioncollector, i then realised that the plain flat headed stud that secures the long upright pole to the sliding bracket thatholds the extractor blue funnel, the flat adjustable arm fits to the lathe's flatbed. i really would appreciate a replacement stud, the rest of the collection dust item seems good. kind regards.:> david malcolm phillisp.

Clear assembly instructions, easy to assemble, good fit around the lathe.VERY effective at collecting dust on the smaller objects I'm turning, but may need moving along the piece if they extend much beyond the collector size.Currently 3D printing an adaptor for my 4" dust collector hose (outside diameter of the included hose is approx 73.5mm), but even without that being fitted properly the suction on this adaptor means almost everything is being captured unless I go for really aggressive cuts. For sanding it seems to capture everything as there is no residue on the or around the lathe like I used to see.I have no hesitation in recommending this product. Note, I also bought the chip deflector screen which can be seen in some of the images (also recommended), but this is an extra and not included with this product.

It certainly does what it's meant to, sucking dust as it comes off the workpiece (although dust protection still advised). The only issue is that it is quite long relative to short workpieces - it prevents the tailstock from coming near the work. Also, its quite bulky in the vertical dimension, which means it gets in the way of the tool rest holder as well. Its a good concept but it really needs to have an independent stand so that it can "float" near the work away from the lathe components, and it needs to be adjustable in length to be a truly great bit of kit.

Bought the deflector at the same time. Perfect combination of safety on a wood lathe.

Hard to keep it in line

Récupère bien les poussières de bois ou de résine mais il faut prévoir un aspirateur très puissant (pour moi un Festool)On peut avoir aussi un problème de positionnement de l'appareil en fonction de la pièce à tourner.Sinon, après un an d'utilisation, aucun problème avec celui-ci.

Ein sehr hochwertig verarbeitetes Produkt.Ist für kleine Projekt und der Absaugschlauch ist nicht in DN 100.Aber wie auf den Bildern zu sehen mit hilfe eines Adapters schön zu lösen.Für Drechsler die Kugelschreiber oder Objekte in änlicher Größe Drechseln wollen vollkommend passen.

Chapeau pour la livraison en moins de 24 heures.On a la un récupérateur de copeaux pour un tour à bois qui est fait pour être placé directement entre les poupées et branché sur un aspirateur de grosse capacité de type cyclonique qui va aspirer toutes les grosses projections de la pièce en mouvement.Il reste complémentaire du filtre à poussières qui lui est placé à distance et se charge de renouveler l'air ambiant en piégeant toutes les microparticules qui volent. (notamment lors du ponçage)En fait c'est simplement une bouche d'aspiration, un tuyau et un support (il n'y a pas de système d'aspiration ou de filtration) , on pourrait être tenté de le faire soit même si on a déjà un aspirateur. Mais si on compte le prix des pièces on n'est pas sur d'avoir un système aussi stable et adapté au tour pour le prix.La bouche d'aspiration :==================- est en forme de gouttière qui épouse parfaitement la forme de la pièce à tourner- elle est en plastique épais de qualité professionnelle (voir vidéo)- Elle s'articule facilement en haut et en bas par son axe.- Petit bug : la vis de serrage de la gouttière ne correspond pas du tout au pas de vis de la tige (c'est un peu du n'importe quoi) heureusement que tout bon bricoleur possède un jeu de boulons et de papillons de substitution.Le raccord :=========- Est un tuyau extensible semi rigide de 70 mm de diamètre externe- Il est livré avec son collier de serrage (qui est un peu surdimensionné)- Mon aspirateur possède un tuyau de 50 mm que je glisse à l'intérieur le temps de trouver un adaptateur 63/50Le support :=========- C'est la le point original : il se fixe directement sur le banc du tour à côté du porte outil sous la poupée fixe ce qui n'est pas gênant ,très stable et facile à orienter (à condition de rajouter une petite rondelle qui manque)- La pince fournie s'adapte parfaitement au banc de mon tour Holzman- A noter que la vis de l'axe est très dure à visser, et il faut une visseuse à gros couple en tenant la tige dans un étau pour y arriver.- Après il faudra voir l'ergonomie à l'usage.===========Globalement :===========- 😲 : C'est plutôt une bonne surprise :C'est bien étudié, plutôt costaud et assez bien usiné🙂 Le point positif c'est : une livraison éclair et un prix très compétitif par rapport au marché en plus de la bonne intégration du système au tour à bois.🙁 Le seul bémol c'est le papillon inadapté. On se demande vraiment comment on a pu se tromper à se point. Ça coûte une toile

mise en place facile, jusqu'à présent pas de gêne pour le tournage . Par contre le positionnement du tuyaux d'aspiration est mal fichu, il impose un cote de sortie, envisager une modification. Mis a part ce défaut le dispositif est très efficace
