This is what it says on the instructions and I haven't seen that in the blurb or reviews online so thought you might like to know. I have so far fixed two things with this: 1 kettle, on/off switch was broken,flimsy bit of plastic just inside the body of the kettle and never thought I'd find anything to stick it and could find no spares for this John Lewis model online. It worked so saved cost of new kettle, not sure how much but not a cheap one! 2 shredder, ridiculous/cheap design meant that a crucial cog that slid over the metal shaft of the shredder teeth was plastic. After a couple of years the hexagonal edges that gripped the shaft rounded off and the teeth would no longer turn so no shredding. Tried fixing it with Araldite, plumbers putty etc to no avail. I enlarged the hole a bit and made a few slots in the plastic radiating from the centre to fill with Q Bond powder and added the superglue to it, outside in plenty of air! It now works. Time will tell how long for. I'm hopeful about the kettle but the shredder puts such a load on the piece I will not be surprised if it fails, like it did after the areldite/putty repair, but who knows. Q Bond failed on one thing, the clip holding the drainage tube to the back of the washing machine but the bit that broke was so thin and had to be pub under such strain to push it into a metal slot that this is hardly surprising. I found that it works best if you build the repair up in small sections so that you dont flood the area with superglue. So far the repair has held good and theres no flexing around it.
