I wanted so much to like this clock. We were huge fans of the "OK to Wake" light up alarm clocks when our kids were very young. Now that they need to get up for school, we were excited to find a clock that could do a silent but visible smiley face for weekend wakeup, PLUS custom MP3 playing capability to wake them during the week. Despite the huge price increase from the other clock, we decided REMI's capabilities were worth the cost.This has turned out to be a mistake. The Urban Hello team is based in Europe and apparently never tested the clock in different time zones. For months now we have experienced the clocks randomly (and frequently) resetting to CEST (6 hours ahead for us). This is annoying at any time, but is particularly bad when it happens overnight and the alarm clock either goes off 6 hours early or not at all. When I first contacted support they appeared to be helpful asking several questions about our setup and then confirming that there was a problem that they would fix shortly. Weeks later when the issue was still occurring I reached back out and was told they hadn't fixed it yet because there were other critical issues they needed to work on with their products first and asked me to be patient. Another month later with the timezone resets still happening my son's REMI was displaying an error code that I couldn't clear. I contacted support again to get some help and I still have not heard back from them at all (several days now at the time of this writing).I will update this post if we get resolution and the clocks become usable for us, but in the meantime, we've begun the search for a more stable alarm clock for our kids. For others, if you're not in CEST time zone, I strongly recommend finding a better solution than the REMI.UPDATE - the Urban Hello team has addressed the issues we were having with the clock and it's become an essential for our kids. We have the clocks set to go to "sleep" at a certain time in the evenings and they use this to know they need to get ready for bed. We have multiple alarms set (some with custom loaded MP3s) to help the kids wake depending on school (music) or weekend (just a smiling clock). We got off to a rocky start with the stability of the clocks, but at this point they've been functioning without a hitch for several weeks and the kids love them. It's also great to be able to update the alarm schedule through an app and not have to go into their rooms if you happen to forget to update the alarm for some special occasion. Well worth the investment (and in our case the issues we worked through with the Urban Hello team).UPDATE 2: The Urban Hello team continues to improve this product and has remained very attentive to the issues and concerns we originally faced. Both of the REMIs are a huge hit with our children and easy for us to manage their wakeup schedule.

I bought this for my 9 year old son. He wanted a clock for his bedroom that could also play music. He's also very much into robots, so he loves the face that lets him know when its time to wake up or keep sleeping. After a few weeks of use, this has helped everyone stay in bed longer on the weekends!So, a few points about this device for parents: It's described as a baby monitor, but it is so much more than that! Yes, it allows you to listen in on your child's room through your smartphone. But, it also let's you speak with your child through the REMI using the smartphone app like a walkie-talkie. This feature alone had my son running to his bedroom quickly at bedtime so that we can continue being silly as he fell asleep. The REMI has sensors that measure both the room temperature and sound levels. I wish we had this when he was an infant! There were so many nights when we were wondering if he was waking up because it was too warm, too cold, or if some sound startled him. With the REMI, you can simply look at the graphs that are provided to understand if temperature or sound are culprits to your baby waking up at 3AM. And, of course, the main feature of this device is the ability to help train your child with healthy sleep habits. This is such an important issue especially these days when our children are over scheduled and overstimulated with electronic devices! It's awesome that we can use one to undo the damaging effects of the other devices. Through the app, you set your child's bedtime and wake time schedules for both weekdays and weekends. If your child happens to wake up too early, he/she looks at the face on the clock to know if it's time to get up or just go back to sleep. If the face is sleeping, then the child knows to go back to sleep. If the face is awake, then the child knows it's okay to get out of bed. This has helped our son sleep an extra hour or two on weekends. That small difference makes a big difference in his mood throughout the day!I'm very pleasantly surprised by the features of this device and at this price point. It is a WiFi device with Bluetooth for playing music. You can also download music to it. It has a built-in night light. The lighting levels can be controlled through the app to make it dimmer or brighter as desired. The night light is smart enough to turn on during the sleep schedule in a dark room, and off when it's time to wake up. And you can track your child's sleeping environmental conditions. Definitely worth buying!

My 3 year old loves using Remi. It’s helped him with early morning wakings. He also loves turning on the nap timer and the fact that Remi plays music when he’s going down for a nap and bedtime. My only complaint is that the music button from Remi never seems to work the instructions say it’s supposed to play a random song, but I have yet to experience it playing any song unless I do it through the app. This hasn’t been a big deal, but it would be nice to have the ability to turn music on from Remi occasionally.Overall would recommend!

Just got this delivered and I have high hopes that it will help my son. Right off the bat- setup was awful. I almost just boxed it back up and shipped it away to amazon for a refund. After an hour- I got it figured out. Now we will see how it works. My hopes are that the rest of the use runs WAY smoother than setup.UPDATE: I have had this product for less than a week and as stated above, I had a very difficult time with the setup. I was finally able to figure it out (took something like an hour) and I was very pleased with the functionality of it. There were some quirks and the translations of the instructions were a bit confusing and cryptic. Customer service was able to offer some assistance which helped. 5 days in, my Remi crapped out just before bedtime. I was in a desperate race to get it back online and operational before my son went to bed. I tried to resync, unplug it... looked online for some options to make it work again. The only option was to contact customer service. While that worked really well in the past, I didn’t have the time to wait. I also am disappointed in the reliability of the product. It didn’t perform how it was expected it to so I boxed it up and it’s on its way back to amazon. A great concept and great customer service but I need a reliable product.
