An outstanding craft set!
This is a little girl's dream craft kit. We gave it to our seven-year-old for Christmas. The directions were clear and easy to follow. My only concern was the SAND. If the terrarium were to get bumped, best case scenario would be that the pretty layers of sand would mix. Worst case, it would spill, have to be swept up and the terrarium would be done. My solution was to mix equal parts of school glue and water. We used an almost full 4 oz bottle of glue. My daughter chose her first color and we poured it and the water/glue mixture into a small bowl to combine it and then added the whole mixture to the bottom of the terrarium. We repeated this process of mixing each packet of sand with the water/glue mixture, than adding it to the terrarium. A few times, we had excess glue in the terrarium so we poured a few packets of sand directly into the terrarium. We set this aside to dry and then followed the steps to grow the crystals. The plastic pots provided seemed too flimsy for the boiling water and I worried they would melt so we put the pots into a glass dish, but it was fine. It took a week for the crystals to grow, which worked well to allow the sand to completely dry as well. Finally assembling it was just arranging the crystals, white stones, pink moss, castle, and unicorn, which of course, our daughter did. I wrapped the fairy lights and snapped the lid on. It looks positively magical all lit up. It's so pretty and our daughter loves it. The only negative is that the cord to the fairy lights is extremely short. You have to keep it right by an outlet. This well worth the price. It's an adorable, well made set that we will enjoy for a long time.

This is a great and fun gift!
This is so much fun!! It's very easy to use, and my niece loved watching her crystals grow. She also loved being able to set up her little terrarium the way that she wanted after growing the crystals. If you have to get a gift for a little girl in your life that's into pinks and purples and unicorns, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this. There are very few steps in which they cannot participate, making this a very hands-on project for kids.

Great Christmas present
I got this for my 11yr old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. She can't wait to see if the crystals really grow, and neither can I. We are also curious to see how so much can fit into a one terrarium because it does come with so much stuff. I'll be posting pictures once some crystals start growing.

So cool!!
Our 5 year old loved this!!! It was so cool and had several parts to it so it took some time. First you decorate then you prep the crystals which take about two weeks. She had a countdown and checked them everyday, she was so excited when it was time! It lights up so the finished product is beautiful!

Followed instructions, crystals didn't work great
Followed the instructions to grow the crystals, and they made a mess and didn't really grow. They are really hard to get out of the cups without breaking, and they stained everything blue and purple. The kit is cute, but the crystals don't work. The sand is messy too. Overall, more trouble than it's worth for a simple "terrarium night light". Unicorn and castle figures look really cheap and plastic.

15min Setup, 7 Days To Grow Crystals, Includes Everything.
We picked this out for our daughter who's a true unicorn nerd and future scientist. This fun kit, combines sand art, terrarium/snow globe building, and crystal growing (the power of nucleation!), topped with a small strand of LED fairy lights to make this a DIY night light/art piece. These projects are a lot of fun, I had "Magic Rocks", with a rocket ship as a kid. Very straight forward, since the sand art didn't take long, but we watched a short documentary about the 4 major processes that form crystals and she was into it, yay science!Pro Tip: Look up videos on how to 'improve' your crystals before growing. a pinch of this or drop of that have awesome effects.
