is the blade already razor sharp?

The “WAKIZASHI” comes already sharpened and will easily deliver what I would consider a very mediocre “paper cut” you should accidentally rub your finger across it’s blade. Here in Hawaii there are 3rd/4th generation local Japanese who have devotedly cared for their family’s traditional ANCESTRAL FAMILIAL KEEPSAKES (Samurai Swords) and I can attest to the fact that these are far more incredibly RAZOR SHARP than any known Western style blades I have ever encountered !
