Canon SELPHY CP1300 Compact Photo Printer (Black) with WiFi w/ 2X Color Ink and Paper Set

After years of having to deal with an all-in-one printer to print pictures for my wife's scrapbooking, I finally decided to get a dedicated printer for her. Dealing with ink cartridge issues, print quality and the like it was just too frustrating. My long days of research led me to this Canon Selphy. I have been a fan of Canon printers for some time for their quality, ease of use and tech support. The innovative way it prints compared to standard ink jets was very intriguing. Comparing the cost of the cartridge/paper sets came out to a little more than what we were using but given that sometimes we spent more on ink just to get a good picture, it was worth the difference. Setup out of the box was very straight forward and simple. The unique feature of this unit is it needs no PC, just your phone. You can however print from a PC or laptop with just a few extra steps if needed. Once we got the wireless connected and the cartridge loaded, the test photo we sent came out in no time. The picture was crisp with vibrant colors and amazing detail. You can edit the pictures right in the app to get it just right for what you want. The other plus for me was you order the cartridge/paper as a set so there is no guesswork about how much is left. The cartridge is good for the quantity of paper it comes with and then you just change it out and reload it, it's that easy. Overall it was well worth it and I look forward to seeing the results in the next book my wife finishes!

I've wanted one of these little printers for a while...I have so many pictures in my phone that I'd like to print out and scrapbook so they aren't lost in the ether. It's super easy to get started with this, and the filters and stamps are really fun to play with. The only thing I can say so far is that the printing on my first few sheets seems a little blurry in an odd way...? Not really super noticeably, just not as crisp as I'd hoped, and maybe it's an effect from the free print cartridge that came in the box. Sometimes free media can be kinda blah. Also, I feel like, as they "dry" fully, the picture looks better. They are dry to the touch pretty much instantly, but the paper is slightly warped up at the sides with what I'd guess is interior moisture. The pictures flatten as they sit longer and dry more. I bought some other cartridge/paper packs, so I'll come back and mention it if they seem crisper, or if the drying process is different. All in all, I'm super happy with how easy it is to use. I can use it from my phone, my Canon camera, or my computer. And since it works on WiFi, I could set it out at paper crafting events and guests could pick photos from their phones to scrapbook right onto the layouts I've designed for them! This is also very compact and portable, and will be great for taking to events out of town, and scrapbooking memories with friends on the spot. I love electronics, but there is still something very magical about having a tactile photo. I've felt like there has been a lack of printed photos in my life for far too long. And the bundle I bought that had the printer plus 2 cartridge/packs was a screaming deal. 😊

This has been fun and handy to have around. Easy enough for my 8 year old to work on his own. He loves printing out his own pictures and they turn out surprisingly well. Only problem we have had is that something went wrong with one of the ink cartridges and we had to rip out an almost full one when it got tangled mid print. I'm not sure what happened, there might have been something in the way behind it, so make sure the backside has plenty of clearance. We replaced the cartridge and it worked fine after that, but it was a bummer losing a whole brand new one.

This is an awesome printer hands down. I love it. Easy to use. So simple. Beautiful, crystal clear photos and I love the easy-to-use for the different kinds of prints and layouts offered. This little printer may not be portable as most in its genre, but it is worth the little bit of bulkiness. Esp. Bc the print quality is awesome. And did I mention the ease of use through the whole process. The apps are easy and cool too, offering many different types of layouts, stickers and borders. I am really happy with this printer so far. Love it.
