SKIL 4.5 Amp Belt and Disc Combination Benchtop Sander - BB9504-00

We have used this sander a lot and it has work great for us.

I haven’t used this sander yet, but it is very well built and had great reviews. Excited to give it a try. Seems like it’s made very well skil is a good quality product.

So like the title says, this is a first impressions review of the Skil 4.5 Amp Benchtop Sander. This is also a comparison review of a similar sander from Wen that I returned after a day of use. At first glance, I was worried about this sander because the body is identical to the Wen sander I returned. I worried that I re-purchased the same product with just a different brand name and color but immediately I could tell that the quality of the sander itself as well as the work tables were much better. With the Wen the tables could not be attached to the sander securely enough to provide a safe experience with the tool but with the Skil version the work tables were easily secured and felt comfortable I would be safe using the sander. Another reason I returned the Wen version of this sander was it was easily bogged down with almost no pressure against either the disk or belt part of the sander. Again not true with this Skil sander. I had to apply quite a bit of effort to bog down the sander with the piece wood I was sanding to have the slightest noticeable slow down of the motor. First impressions of this sander is it's easy to assemble, solid enough to use the sander with a comfort of safety, and has a powerful enough motor to perform more than enough for any hobbyist's needs. So far I am very happy with my decision to purchase this Skil sander and if it continues to meet my expectations much like the Skil table saw I purchased a few months back, then Skil maybe my new brand of choice when it comes to corded power tools.

Great bench sander for the price. Well packaged for shipping. Easy to set up, instruction manual provides clear instruction. Motor appears powerful enough for most sanding needs.. Motor speed is constant and not variable . 12 month warranty can be extended to 36 months if you register product on the Skil website. Caution: Both belts run concurrently, so when using and focused on the horizontal belt, just be sure not to have any loose clothing near the disk below to get caught, because you won't see it coming!. Overall great sander.

I’m satisfied with quality and performance, given the price point. Sanding belt changing and tracking are quick and simple; however, having to use an Allen wrench to remove the guide plate and/or adjust the belt angle is time consuming and tedious…not at all user friendly. Keep good track of the Allen bolts if/when they’re removed for configuration changes!

I've wanted a combo sander like this for some time, and after reading some reviews, I picked the Skill. Out of the box it was a snap to assemble and I was using it in under five minutes. Both the disk (which is largely what I bought it for and works perfectly), as well as the flush belt (which proved to be surprisingly useful) worked great, with just a tweak to align the belt. Unless you're doing very heavy stock, this will work great on most home workshop projects and I also use it on lighter wood modeling hobby things too.

Just like the other reviews I have to admit this is a nice product for the price. If you are just getting into woodworking this should defeat most of your little projects you throw at it. I think the weight is enough to set on top of your bench and do most things without securing it down but if you need to put some pressure on it you might want to bolt it to t tracks or clamp it to your work surface. All in all another good skil product for a good price.

Tiene buena potencia, no es tan ruidosa. El único punto negativo es el calibre de inglete que tiene una calidad baja y el riel que trae es más bien un canal y no un riel. Fuera de eso es una buena herramienta.
