MiiCoffee 58mm Magnetic Dosing Funnel - Espresso Coffee Dosing Ring - Anodized Aluminum with 9 Magnetized Steel Compatible with 58mm Portafilter (Tall)

This dosing funnel does its job well, has good fit and finish, and is a good value. Some have complained about the strength of the magnets, but I don't think that is what is limiting how well this device sticks to the portafilter. On my Gaggia portafilter, the rim of the basket sticks up about 3.5 mm above the tabs on either side of the portafilter. The lip on this device is just a little bit longer than that (~3.8mm), so the magnets don't fully contact the steel basket. I don't have a need to turn it over in use, so it is fine for me. If I pull the basket out of the portafilter, it sticks very strongly. I think the magnetic attraction is good enough for my needs, but one could sand down the bottom of the dosing funnel (or file a couple of notches for the tabs) to allow the magnets to contact the steel basket if it is not sticking well enough. Alternately, Mii if you are listening, make the lip about 0.5mm shorter!

I like this little gadget, it helps me to save coffee spill, I use Virtuoso grinder, it fits nicely to it and avoid the excessive spill. Good product.

Simplifies the grind/tamp/prep process so that I can grind right into the basket, and so my WDT and leveling and tamping don't get grounds all over my counter. Solidly built, strong magnets stick to basket perfectly without making it hard to remove and the finish means it's very easy to clean.

I received this product and in the bag one of the magnets was already missing. After putting it on my portafilter a few times, another magnet came out. Of course Amazon returned this product and refunded my money without question. I ordered a second one and so far it hasn't lost any magnets. I decided to amend my review and give it four stars instead of two because for the price this thing cannot be beat. It is a perfect height for WDT, not too tall so I can see what I am doing and keeps all of the grounds in place. Some other funnels have a color on the inside which digs into your grounds and make it so you have to redistribute around the edges after you pull the collar off. I would highly recommend this one or one like this with an outside collar so you don't have to distribute again after pulling the collar off.

is really quite nice! Nice design. The recently acquired miiCoffee DF-64 grinder, after dialing -in, produces ground coffee that is uniformly fine, quite fluffy, and is quite different from what I'm accustomed. Getting all that lovely fluff into a portafilter was challenging. This dosing funnel is step-one towards resolution of the problem. The WDT clump buster tool (when it arrives) should also help. Finally, the 58mm DIA tamper fits well. More to come.

Perfect fit for use with my 58 mm filter basket. Slips into Eureka Mignon grinder and when adjusted properly no grounds spill out. Magnet strength is perfect; strong enough so it does not fall off and yet removes with finger tip pressure. Considered the 1.1" tall ring, but settled on the 0.7" tall ring and am very satisfied with the match with my grinder.

Quality is good, magnets are strong, but the opening for the basket placement is too small. Should be about 50-100 microns larger to fit properly on basket. I tested with VST and Rancilio baskets. If I push the funnel to completely fill into basket, then it is not easy to detach it. Without pressure it will not fit properly.

I decided on this dosing funnel because similar ones were more expensive and I was worried about the quality but it is great. It stays on all of my 58mm portafilters. Is easy to put on, and take off. The only problem I have had is on my stock Gaggia portafilter it doesnt fit exactly so some coffee gets on the top of the portafilter BUT because how this is positioned, it never falls off. Not a big deal because when I take this off i can just use my finger to put the little bit of coffee back into the portafilter. Overall this is a fantastic value.

This thing is great, I made a coffee with it as soon as it arrived. I always used a DIY funnel that a made out of a small yogourt container. I never used a 7 needles coffee distruter to even-out the grinds and break up the clumps. This really makes a difference coffee taste stronger and more flavour come through. This funnel design also let you use the tamper while it's still on, it goes right trough. It's light weight, yet sturdy, magnets are the perfect strength. Low profile, but you don't need higher than that. Black fit well with my coffee setup. Another thing worth mentioning, it's a similar design as the more expensive Rocket brand magnetic funnel.
