Product description Produced for honing and maintaining the edges on both the inside and outside of gouges and vee tools, the Flexcut SlipStrop consists of a complex moulding with two areas of leather and a bar of a specially developed honing compound. The compound is available separately for those wishing to use it on their existing strop. In use, the particular part of the moulding most suited to the chosen tool is rubbed crayon-like with compound and the tool stropped. A mirror finish is achieved quickly, and the resulting razor edge can be maintained by repeating the process many times before resharpening is required. Use for gouges and vee tools both inside and outside. Ingredients Not edible

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this suitable for non flexcut tools?**
A: I use mine with Pfeil tools and it works well, through I find the block of sharpening compound is rather too hard for my liking. I use Tormek PA-70 Honing Paste with it which is very soft and appears to work well.I also have a strip of leather (a sample from a furniture store) which I use for for flat chisels. According to online sources T-cut (as used for removing scratches on car bodies) works as well.

**Q: Is it worth sharpening the cheaper lino cutters**
A: Yes, but probably not worth buying this kit to do them. Just a file and fine emery paper should do it.

**Q: Stupid question but do you need to wear a mask when using the polishing coumpound? If so would a simple medical mask be enough?**

Great sharpening tool for keeping blades sharp during use. Easy to use. The different shapes on the block were almost perfect in shape/ size for the lino cutting tools I have. It kept my blades sharp and cutting well as long as I used it often

I found this good for polishing my small wood carving tools however they need to be honed and already Sharp this product is for the final finish and can be used to touch up your edge whilst carving really quite handy . If only different grade stones were available with the same profiles it would make a nice little sharpening system .
