allpondsolutions 400 L/H Aquarium Hang On Fish Tank Filter - Small Nano Mini Hang on Back Waterfall Filter

I bought this product to replace a very expensive Fluval internal filter. the Fluval was a problem from the start, it clogged quickly the flow rate reducing to a dribble and the motor starts to rattle alarmingly. It is difficult to clean as it has to be removed from the tank, disturbing my plants and fish, the sucker attachments are constantly coming off and getting lost in the tank (I still can't find one of them!) This product seems to be a solution to all those issues, It has a flow rate you can see, it is transparent so you can judge when the pads need cleaning or changing, cleaning can be done with the filter in situ, and above all NO suckers. In addition it releases space in my tank as it fits outside, at the back, out of sight. It has a long cable so the wall socket won't get wet, the skimmer is brilliant. We have very soft, acidic water, good for tetras, but it develops an oily film on the surface within a day of a water change, which seems resistant to surface turbulence, the skimmer has solved this. My only issue is the destructions (that isn't a spelling error!!) I had to work out how to assemble myself which took me best part of day, mostly trail and error, if the inlet pipe is even slightly mis-aligned the impeller makes a fearsome rattle (probably resulting in some of the negative reviews?) It takes a degree of force to correctly join it to the motor, I was afraid it would break, but when assembly was achieved the motor is VERY quiet, just a pleasant gurgle from the water fall. I will update after the product has run for a while.

firstly i do not write reveiwsOne person claimed it had taken them a whole day to figure it out! this person clearly needs to see there health care provider!!it takes less than 3min to assemble,and thats with a 2 min tea break!it IS SILENT.the motor makes the smallest of hums but a large feather dropping will drown that outSomebody else said the skimmer made a loud sucking noise,that must have been their partner drinking their tea cos this thing makes zero noisei have my water high to just 1 inch under the waterfalls this does stop all splash noise (which i want)this still give good water movement and thousands of tiny air bubblesSo to recap,easy to install,silent,its well made,not pricey.stop reading go buy it

I like this filter, its better than most internals being that it holds extra water, so great for biological and mechanical filtration.It includes all you need, and there is room to put a bit more in, at least on this model (600-HO).It is a bit noisy though. With the skimmer attachment it seems to constantly suck in air, and that drove me mad so I stopped using it. Without skimmer its still loud, but certainly not noisy enough that you can't tune it out.Don't let that put you off though, it is a great filter, produces decent flow even with an extra sponge in there, and its certainly not hideous.If APS can sort the loud skimmer issue, I'd have given it the full five stars!

I am really impressed with this filter. It is a little ugly on my small shrimp tank, but at the price i am not worried. The only issue for me, was the skimmer tubing was too long and once cut down was fine. All set up and working great. The water is very clear.

This filter started out great. But is now the worst filter I have ever used, and all my previous filters were second hand. This beast was quiet at first, but now is a constant grating rattle. The skimmer kept sucking in baby shrimp, so I kept having to rescue them. On top of that, this filter breaks down roughly every four days, I take it apart, clean it, put it back together, and if I'm lucky there will be a tiny trickle of water. Because I had this sitting in the box for a while before I set my tank up, I couldn't return this, and I'm not the sort of person who usually just returns things, but honestly this is the worst filter. Again, this isn't a maintenance issue, because the filter gets cleaned very regularly. I've even brought it to a local fish shop just in case I'm missing something, and I'm not, this filter just breaks down a lot. Please don't waste your money on this filter, it's not an issue of if it'll break, it's when.

Amazing filter!! I was nervous to buy since everyone claimed it to be loud but that is definitely not the case for me. There is noise from the water entering the tank which is similar to a waterfall sound, but its not at all loud. The filter was loud at first because it took a while for itself to settle and I guess 'prime ' itself and so there was more of a humming and crackling sound, but that went away in less than a week and now the only sounds are those of the water coming out. The tank with this filter is in my room and I have no issues sleeping and I'm a light sleeper.The filter creates great surface agitation , and I recommend playing around with the valve to increase and decrease water flow and see which fits your tank best.I absolute adore the skimmer! No more bubbles or micro films on the surface of the water, my tank looks exceptionally clean.I also really like that there is space in the filter to add biological media like the ceramic rings etc.Overall I'm super happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this product to others.

Works great but it if gets lightly knowcked or moved can stop working and need fiddling with for 5 mins to get it back going.
