Be willing to work at it and expect a great outcome.
First of all let me just say right up front. I am 72yrs old and yes I have used this product and my review is my honest opinion. No one has offered me anything for my opinion and I do not have an agenda for giving my option. It is honest and true. That being said I will tell anyone who wants to know. I have read some of the positive and some of the negative reviews. Ther is a lot of truth in both. Except where someone who has been lazy and down right negative from the start. Does this product have a strong odor? Yes yes yes it definitely does. Is this product easy to use? Let me say this. If you are afraid of a little hard work and just plain lazy you need to look else where. But if you want a nice looking clean looking outcome and dont mind the work then this is your product. I have just finished my second tub unit. First I researched this product throughly last year before Thanksgiving. I have a own ŵhouse that was built in 1986 that was my mom's. It's mine now. I have done a lot of work in it and wanted to do something in the bathroom with the fixtures. The tub unit was original the toilet and sink had been replaced with white. The tub was that brown color and was faded looking. I didn't want the expense to replace it so I looked at options. That's how I found the Rustoleum tub and tile gloss white finish. The price was right and I was willing to get my hands dirty and work hard. Let me just say right here. A negative mind produces a negative out come. ALWAYS. I was skeptical to say the least. Do I expect this to be a job that will last 50yrs? No i do not. Do I expect this finish to look like a factory produced new unit? No I donot. Now right down to the truth. Starting out with a dark color going to an expected white finish I knew was going to be a.challenge to begin with. If at all possible. I am not a professional painter nor a contractor of any kind. With the cost roughly around $50 how could go wrong. Let me say yes there is a very strong odor. I used a respiratory and highly recommend using one. The first coat is just a base coat. DO NOT keep going over the same area . It will get tacky and not do well. Start with a thin coat and move on. Don't linger and waste time. If you don't have a couple hours to devote to this project do not start it. Cover with the base coat. Don't expect great coverage to begin with. Wait at least one hour before a second coat. Do expect there to be some minor streaks. If you encounter bumps and little specks then after that first hour lightly use a t least a 220 grit sand paper. This is not a job for the lazy. Continue with the second coat. Do not work slowly. Take the time to work with it but do not keep going over the same area. The product self levels as time goes on. I used three -four coats. DO NOT use a foam roller whatsoever!! It will come desolve and come apart melt if you will. I made.this mistake . I changed to another type 1/4 in nap. And finished allowing it to dry. After Christmas I used 220 grit WET sanded it and applied another coat this week. It is a very nice finish. Yes it does have a texture to the finish. Some have referred to as orange peel. That is true but ok in my book. I don't know how this product will hold up over the ⁴long haul but listen it looks very nice I am happy with it and my friend had me just finish her tub yesterday. Long story short. Would I recommend this product....if you are not afraid of a little work and willing to have a positive attitude and realistic expectations then go for it. I can't speak of how long this product will hold up over the.long haul but if it lasts for a few years it will be well worth the money. I can always do it again. And not have spent thousands for a new tub. But in my opinion I do have a.new tub. Thanks for your time. Now go do some work and get yourself a great looking clean tub..and get over the fear of the fumes.

Looks great
So far so good. Looks amazing but have not gotten it wet yet. Fingers crossed it will hold up and clean well. I used a 2" standard paint brush. Fumes are extremely strong, a quality paint fume respirator is a must. Was stinging my eyes a bit also while applying. Had all doors and windows open and fans. Takes at least 24 hours for the house to begin to be going back to normal, more 48 to lose the smell. Need to work fast, especially on the second coat. From all I can see from cleaning up some areas on the drain etc that I got this epoxy on and needed to remove, it is a very durable product. I did two coats on my tub (did not paint the one exterior vertical side, I blended it over the edge, as that side was in great condition. And I still had some left over so I did one heavy coat on a small shower stall floor.

Easy to use, beautiful finish.
Wow oh wow what a difference it made in our rental. Easy to work with, but definitely need ventilation. I would suggest a mask as well, as it's a pretty potent smell. Lays beautifully after applied. Very easy to use and mix. It is a mineral spirit/paint thinner clean up, but i just threw everything i used away, was cheaper that way : ). MAKE SURE to sand everything properly and graciously. I've seen someone else have an outcome not as beautiful, due to lack of sanding. Promise you, take the extra time, you'll end up with a vibrant, fresh, and looking new tub.

Impressed So Far
UPDATE: this product isn't perfect and has started to chip BUT ... I am still impressed with the difference this made. This winter, we have had extreme colds, and our bathroom is very well heated. I think this combo caused the paint to pull away from the tub this winter in small places, mostly in a curve of the tub. This could be an operator error in not sanding or getting the perfect coat. It's still an improvement and I would even consider buying another kit just to put an even coat over it all. When I did this, I did the tub and the vanity counter that dips directly to the sink. I am still incredibly impressed with how the sink has held up, only with one small chip where a hairspray can was dropped. What a difference!! I read so many reviews about the smell, but wondered how well my attic fan would reduce the issue. I proceeded with two kits in the grey. I followed the directions very closely about sanding and wiping down the surface, which was a putrid yellow. The old color and the sanding were the worst part of this project. The kit was easy to understand and fairly simple to apply- just make sure you bring in good lighting so you can spot any drips before it dries as it dries quickly. It's thin and will drip, but also prepare with two other high quality sponge rollers- the chemicals will slowly break it down, but I was prepared ahead of time. I ensured pets were on the lower level away from the fumes and ran our attic fan with a few windows open. Although my home got quite warm, the attic fan helped reduce the strength of the fumes from what was described in many reviews. It was quite noticable, but tolerable within 2 hours. We let it cure for over a week before we used it, but have used it for the past month and it's holding up well! The two kits covered, with some excess, the whole shower & surround, and a terrible shell shaped counter into sink. I am the most worried of the year and tear of a main bathroom sink. I'll admit the "fog" color is quite gray for what I anticipated, even seeing it pictures in reviews, but I still like it (mainly having the sink painted spreads the color out...). So far, this product was worth the cost for the improvement it helped make so my bathroom can be more tolerable until we do a larger renovation. I'll update my thoughts on durability after a year but I am hoping for good results!

Easy, quick, beautiful - the smell is fine for chemical
In an old single wide 1989 trailer until I can put something new, every time we tear something apart it’s more work (rotted wood). I decided to just use this and I give it 10 out 10 highly recommend and while it does stink it’s super tolerable. Maybe some are ultra sensitive but it’s not that bad. It was easy and upon placing 4 coats after each coat it looked wrong but upon drying each time it looked perfect. I bought a spray can of this in case I need to do touch ups. Don’t overthink it and once mixed you have six hours, wait at minimum one hour between coats. It does not store like paint. Happy restoration!

DO NOT BUY SMELL WILL MAKE YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN SICK
THE SMELL IS 100% NOT WORTG BUYING THIS PRODUCT! I read the reviews before purchasing so I had some knowledge that the smell was a little strong. But oh my gracious! No matter how many Air Drs, fans, vents we had open and moving, the smell was absolutely overwhelming and painful. If you have children and you decided to do this, you must be out of the house for a week MINIMUM in order for the smell to dissipate some. Our whole home smelled like I painted every wall with nail polish, and it smelled like that for over a week. SO SO SO STRONG! My poor children! While doing it, my eyes became blood red and they stung due to the off gas of it. I couldn’t open them, they were watering non stop, and stinging like crazy! The product came with enough for two coats, but that wasn’t enough. It will probably need another one or two coats to not be transparent but I will NEVER but this again. I will look for a low or no VOC bath paint. Also, because this paint is so trying, it literally disintegrated my roller brush! By the second coat, it was falling apart and leaving little bits behind because it was disintegrating. This whole project was a wash. I wish I could give this 0 stars. It literally ruined our lives for 2 weeks because of the strong smell that would not freakin leave our home. Quality bad, color bad, smell bad ALL BAD. Do not buy this.

Peeled immediately
Ok, followed directions, took my time. Tub came out great but tile walls peeled in spots immediately... I will sand and recoat. It's a lot of work prepping, also the material did not go as far as it said. I will use 4 cans total for tub and walls. Update- sanded peeled areas and another coat was done.. Holding up ok 6 weeks later Contacted rustoleum and they did refund me for some of the product

AMAZING
VERY IMPRESSED! The product comes with two cans, it says pour A into B, which is fine but the can is too small to mix it together, so I put them in a bucket and mixed it gently with a paint stick, then poured into a paint tray to roll. The consistency isn't thick which at first alarmed me but is completely fine. Once you start spreading it and time goes by it starts to thicken some. I used sponge type 6" rollers, NOT mat rollers! I used a total of 4 rollers because they do fall apart. You will at first see roller lines on your first coat, that's okay! On your second and 3rd coats it will start to blend really well once it starts to dry. Go slow and take your time. It's definitely sticky!! So if you get it on anything and you need to get it off quickly get stripper or lacquer of some sort and I used a scraper knife. Once it dries after your first 3-4 hrs it will be slightly rough or bumpy, I used a finishing sand block gently just to get it more smooth. I used to boxes because lots of others said it took two kits, and glad I did! I could have even used a 3rd if I really wanted to, but thought two was good enough. I let it sit for 4 days to cure and harden. The smell is definitely potent!! But if you have painted, sprayed, etc, and have had experience with that you will realize the smell isn't overly powerful like most people said. I opened all my windows, and had a big fan to help and did just fine.

Smelly but satisfying
Takes a few coats didn’t quite get finish I wanted on the sink. But struggled with roller type. Very smelly for 3 days. But overall good product

Amazing results
Absolutely love this product! Actually ordered another one to add to my project! Gave me exact results i was looking for! Cost me 200$ to make my ugly bathroom completely retiled professionally!!! Porcelaine finish! Would have cost minimum 1000$ to retile plus the hassle! Took 3 hours in all for 2 coats of magic! Very impressed! and i never really take the time to review…but believe this product… and result of my reno.. deserves it! Recommend 200%

Pretty impressed
I completed this project about 2 months ago and so far so good. This is my first major DIY project and I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. It certainly wasn’t easy and what I thought was going to only take a couple days took almost a week, but not because of the paint. The prep work was tedious and long and I also have a large window in the shower I needed to refinish with different products. When it came to the epoxy paint, I leaned in the first coat how quickly it dries. I ended up predominantly using my foam roller and I moved quick. The paint is self levelling so it was forgiving in that sense. This paint in two coats covered an old brown tile color beautifully and is going to help updating the bathroom a coat effective project. The smell is a serious thing. I think my house smelled like the middle of a paint can for 4 days. So if you have small children or scent sensitive people in your house, doing this project when there will be lots of time out of the house might be best. Overall very happy with the outcome. It was hard work but wasn’t as scary as it felt getting started. I’ve already purchased the touch up kit in the event I need it. I might use it to touch up a couple spots where I wasn’t as even on the grout.
