How deep is the throat of the stapler? I need to print on A4 landscaper and fold sheets in half to make a booklet.

Without providing actual measurements, I can tell you that it is not 'long' enough to achieve what you want. This was my original intention when I purchased this stapler but I didn't have the sense to ask the question you have just done, first!!

Can someone advise, how do you load the staplers

I had one of these a couple of years ago. I was not very impressed. I had not had it long when it started spewing out staples, about 3 at a time, every time i used it. It was robustly built but not efficient - I dumped it! To open it, pull the handle right back.

Will it staple a zip to plastic

It should do, I stapled plastic tape to a canvas carrier on my Rollator walking aid. Give a try as long as it is not rigid plastic.

Would this manage to staple 80 sheets of paper together?

Yes, it's very capable of stapling up to 100 pages well. Just make sure to use the appropriate staples with the stapler
