Excellent and easy to setup, although could do with a second receiver as standard in this particular set.

Overpriced and misleading
1) Wireless control (very misleading marketing), it is wireless by Infra-Red and has to be line of sight.2) If connected to a computer the software (a paid extra btw) does not allow you to program Locos, it has to be done through the horrible 'Remote' interface.3) After just one year the LCD screen has become hardly readable despite careful treatment.Overall I found this to be be overpriced, misleading and unreliable. AVOID!!

Good interface and controlls poor IR connection
Bought an earlier version than this namely the E-Z Command (36-505) At the time I thought it superior to the Hornby unit as it allowed for a wireless interface with the controller.Comes with a 2.3 amp power supply, Infrared handset and base station processor unit and of Course a user guide. The controller is nicely set up with a good interface that allows for programming locos and accessories. 14.28 or 128 speed steps. 9,999 locomotive addresses, expandable modular design, supports consisting and control of up to 100 points. Its quite easy and fun to use and comes with a well laid out user guide. My only gripe is the limited IR connection that drops out even when close to the base station and the connection is quite directional. There is a better connection having the hand set at an acute angle to the base station rather than opposed. Having a quite a large layout I found that if I walked about even for a few metres the signal may drop out and having no control or at best an intermittent connection. I found this very frustrating.Overall this unit had some very good features but the IR is pretty dreadful. Maybe this version has corrected for this problem. My advice is her before you buy.
